On tap at Higgins Ale Works, München, Wednesday 1st October 2025. Oktoberfestbier delayed today owing to bomb threat and death of one person and injury of two others in the north of the city. Pours deep gold, in fact it's light amber with a slim white head. The nose is very subtle, not giving any clues aside from a little maltiness. Flavour is malty, there's a little bit of toffee, malt and a nice body. I like this, soft mouthfeel, very easy drinking.

Bottle courtesy of Kostas, Kykao brewery. Had this sat in Frank at the end of the night, Tuesday 30th September 2025 after a night out at Sammamera, Freising. Pours murky dark brown with very little head, meaty, thick in the mouth, it's a bit chewy, wet wood, it's a bit boozy but it's certainly not without its charms. Do I like it?, yeah sort of, there is a certain Belgian vibe here but it's not obvious.

On tap at Sammamera, Freising Tuesday 30th September 2025. Informed that this was unfiltered, however as Loz noticed straight away it's actually quite clear, very good clarity with a large white head. Taste is fresh, citrusssy, dry and a little bitterness but not quite a crispy Pils, it straddles that middle ground, a pleasant beer but more mid table.

Had this Thursday 25th September 2025 after picking up a mixed crate of Oktoberfest beers (five of the six) from Degenhart Getrankemarkt Spieglau earlier in the day. Had this at home, sat in the dining room listening to Round Table on 6Music with Huw Stephens, we had Indian Style Fish Fngers and Chips for tea. Pours deep gold, clear as a bell, nice carbonation, malty aroma with honey, similar in the mouth, the slightly stronger abv doesn't really show, it's smooth, easy to drink and the bitterness is low, it's a decent beer and one which I am surprised that I've not rated before.

We visited here Wednesday 10th September 2025 after a walk from Camp Vugec plac 2-3kms out of town, we saw this place on the walk into town and the large illuminated Zmajska Pivovara sign had made us think we needed to visit it on our return to the campsite. We visited Bor Bar, Scout Club Irish Pub and Pivovar Ranzum before here but this place held up extremely well (2nd fav') and along with Scout Club is well worth a visit. It is located on the road to Zagreb and as the name suggests (Keef - btw the logo is of Keith Richards) Its a it leans towards a music bar vibe, however to dismiss it as such would be wrong.
The beer list has the following from Zmajsko Pale Ale, Therapy, Pils and Nitor Noir Stout then there is Nova Runda C4 and Pilsner Urquell. The Zmajsko Pale Ale tasted great but unfortunately the Nova Runda had run out and they were waiting for a new delivery, so we couldn't try this. It is super friendly and I could definitely seeing this being a great local if I lived here. We sat in the area at the front, there was a screen showing football, some lower league fixtures I think as I didn't recognise many team names.
The service was friendly and quick and prices great, we really liked it here, perhaps we should have sat inside the main part and got chatting to staff and a couple of regulars.

Bottle picked up from a Getrankemarkt in Günzburg and consumed at home Wednesday 24th September 2025 listening to ByteFM and cooking Courgette Rotolo with a Lemon and Herb Ricotta Stuffing. Pours warm gold edging towards orange in colour with a mid/large foamy white head. Hitting the right pointers with aroma and taste , there's a yeastiness, a little citrus, banana and wheatiness, this is a very nice Hefeweizen.

Bottle picked up from a local Getrankemarkt and consumed at home Wednesday 24th September 2025 listening to ByteFM and cooking Courgette Rotolo with a Lemon and Herb Ricotta Stuffing. Pours hazy gold with a large foamy head. A little yeast on the nose, taste also a little yeasty with a wheatiness and tang, a little sweet and the N/A taint is there, it's ok.
