Sample at the taproom as part of Ohio Brew Week on 07/18/2025, during the 10th Anniversary celebration. Flat black pour with a medium beige head that dissipates quickly to a wispy film. Sparse patches of lace. Roast malt, chocolate and peanut in the nose. Medium body with flavors of roasted malt and peanuts, bourbon and chocolate. The finish is sweet with a chocolate and peanut butter aftertaste. Decent overall.

Sparse small patches of lace. Aroma of malt, fruit and caramel. Medium body with flavors of roasted malt, ripe fruit, caramel and a touch of earthy hop. The finish is sweet with a malty aftertaste. Decent overall.

Sample from a 2012 bottle at the Blarney Wine tasting on 03/16/2013. The beer is a murky reddish-brown color with a medium foamy off-white head that recedes steadily. Patchy lacing on the glass. Aroma of earthy malt, oak and dark fruits. Full-bodied with flavors of roasted malt, caramel, oaky vanilla and raisins. The finish is bourbon and vanilla. Good beer all around.

Sample at the Blarney Wine tasting on 03/16/2013. Cloudy reddish-brown color with a medium white head that recedes steadily. Partial rings of lacing. The aroma consists of ripe fruit, malt and oak. Full-bodied with flavors of bourbon, caramel malt, hops and fruit. The finish is rich and malty with a lingering boozy aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

Pours black as night with a medium and foamy light brown head that has good retention. Rings of lacing on the glass. Big aroma of cocoa, roasted malt and bourbon. Rich body with bittersweet chocolate, roasted malt, coffee and a bit of spice. Light smoke and bourbon in the background throughout. The finish is full and moderately bitter coffee and hops with a sharp alcohol aftertaste. Would probably benefit from aging a bit. Overall this is a very good Imperial Stout.

Sample at the Aces & Ales Winter Beer Fest on 01/16/2015. The beer pours brownish-black with a medium thin beige head that recedes steadily to a dense film. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roast malt, chocolate and coffee. Full-bodied with flavors of smoked malt, roasted nuts, bittersweet chocolate and coffee. The finish is roasty with a charred malt aftertaste. Enjoyable beer all around.
