Walked across the border last summer after a day trip to France and found the interesting little micropub of Boulevard under a block of flats in the quiet vibrant Basque town of Irun. The beer I ordered before the train home was deeper red with a light carbonation and a lower sourness sour. This allowed some mild cherry notes through for flavour, which were better stated here than in aroma.

The Paloma is known as the National Cocktail of Mexico and Siren have done a pretty good job of recreating it as a sour beer, although it's not too sour at all. Thankfully the tequila essence takes a backseat to the more dominant lime and grapefruit found here.

In the cult television series, the iconic 'Welcome To Twin Peaks' population sign in the opening of each Twin Peaks episode actually misstated the amount of people living there by over 46,000. This beer is a little misstated too, I expected a lot more pine, and whilst its strength might have an impact here there's not much, and the ensuing hoppy character is a little bland by Northern Monk standards.

On the day i'm drinking this beer exactly forty years ago 39 football fans lost their life prior to the European Cup Final in the Heysel Stadium Disaster - despite this the game went ahead and Juventus won the trophy. Clearly not an everybody good time event. This beer of that name has a nice hoppy citrus spiciness, clearly well crafted to go with Indian food for their Bundobust restaurants collaboration. Typically I had it with Chinese food.

Deadication beer to Dragas Palaeologus - the last Constantine Emperor who died on this day - the anniversary of the fall of Constantinople. He was a warrior leader. This Warrior ale is by no means a leader, drinkable but mid-range at best with a malty-hoppy character.

May to September beer - well the other way around, drank in the latter, rating now in the former. Cask pour at the Trafford Arms just a short walk away from the city centre of Norwich, a purpose built pub in the suburbs. Blonde with a creamy-frothy head, hoppy-floral notes in both aroma and taste, but nothing too appealing.
