pours golden/brown with a golden head
fat solid hoppy nutty and malty aroma,
pretty solid nutty malty flavor with a lot of hops sort of integrated into the flavor so you get them as a flowery component of the flavor as well as a rise in bitterness towards and into the end. quite british in its composition, esp the hops. a bit like a very strong esb combined with a very strong ipa.
somewhat industrial but very smooth and rounded for an industrial. flavorful but oldfashioned. resiny. fits well with the current heatwave this summer in europe, but only if you're inside an airconditioned pub.

slightly cloudy yellow, white head
nice citrussy hoppy aroma with herbal hoppy notes like grapefruit and pine. good hop bitterness. hops are full bodied, not thin and sharp.
flavor is hoppy and subdued malty, crisp malts, hops are more agressive, but not overly so. the hop bitterness last long into the aftertaste but the other hop flavors fade away quite soon, leaving an impression the beer is thin or not strong enough. quenching and easy drinking session. bit watery.

2026 bottle.
Pours very dark brown, selttles black, light brown small head
really nice red grape like roasted malty aroma, sort of like a port barrel imp stout, fruits and wood are near perfectly balanced and the base beer appears solid enough to be able to handle the extra complexity.
flavor is roasted malts, salt licorice, coconut, bit of coffee bitterness, lots of alc. bitterness, wood, faint note from the red wine, i little bit of cake frosting sweetness from the sugars, dark chocolate cake with a tiny bit of bitter caramel that i could do without. Still, a pretty darn good BA imp stout and the red wine barrel worked exceptionally well, it has not turned into a halfway quad or anything crazy. smooth. super nice. def. better than 2026 black, this being more balanced.

clear yellow - not light yellow more on the way to light golden, white head
traditional IPA aroma with flowery notes as well as citrussy notes. good crisp aroma.
flavor is slightly citrussy hoppy with a good quite solid hoppy bitterness that lasts to the end. malts are crisp, body is quite average - not thin as i had feared, very drinkable very traditional american ipa. well done.

very very dark brown, huge smooth creamy light brown head with some large bubbles. looks very imperial.
aroma is roasted malty, sweet flowery from hops, coffee, a bit herbal hoppy notes on top of the roasted malts, or perhaps (very) old coffee notes (the point where the coffee gets sweet from aging, yuck!)
flavor is roasted malts, sweet hard candy - aftertaste is quite roasted malty, espresso coffee, strong bitterness that is pleasant. the flavor before the aftertaste is a bit herbal and candy like, sort of like those hard swiss herbs candy pieces. perhaps it's mints like herbal note in there?.
Amager makes many of the best heavy black beers, this one, imho, is a bit off, imho.

Hazy yellow, huge fizzly white head that magically disappears in 40 seconds.
Aroma is somewhat flat and old lime soda, malts. flat beer. not very appetizing. like a radler left out in the spanish summer sun for a week.
flavor is lemon, flat beer, sort of dank flavor from alc. and beer, and then a pretty solid citrussy note like from those yellow plastic lemin juice containers. beer and citrus is batteling for attention, showing off each other's bad sides. not balanced. I must admit : industrial spanish radler like beers in general are much better than this. industrial spanish lime sodas are better than this, and industrial spanish beer is better than this.. so.. wtf?

flavor is slightly mineral watery, herbal hoppy, crisp dry malty, lots of hops for a nonalc, very quenching and refreshing - in the hot sun, cold one of these will go down in seconds.

pours dark brown to black, settles black with nearly no head
Bourbon aroma, also roasted malts, some kind of citrussy fruity notes.
Flavor is fruity, licorice, bourbon, honey or maple syrup, alc. burny ending with some malty bitterness to carry a mixed fruity/roasted malty flavor into the far end.
the beer is somewhat more fruity than normal bourbon stouts, borrowing some flavor notes from belgian quad's but not the crazy yeast funkiness.
i would've preferred less fruits more roasted malts. The flavor here is more like the flavor i'd expect from red wedding, or maybe barrelling on white port wine barrels or dessert wine or the like.

texture is a little bit thin for such a heavy imp stout, but okay and does not feel or taste watery.
while the dried dark fruity notes are a bit in the way, they do let you explore the beer as a very complex beer with more enthusiasm. makes you think how those 12 months in the barrel went, and what went on in there.
quite well blended, not much coffee though. It can be tasted that the beer has had a lot of time to settle.
