6.9/10 Appearance 7 Aroma 8 Flavor 6.5 Texture 5 Overall 7
cloudy golden, smooth huge creamy offwhite head
solid hoppy aroma with a mix of hop-herbal notes. west-coasty, aroma could well be a great IPA beer from the states. both intensity and nuances , blend and complexity and bitterness level is great.
Flavor is fruity hoppy with some resiny notes and some fruit candy notes. bitterness is not balancing well, the sweetness has taken over, flavor is not as great as aroma, but clearly drinkable as a sweet fruity ipa with a few notes borrowed for mor barley wine like beers. Tastes like it is stronger than 7% but is watery as if it was less than 7%
Tasted 2026 jun 18 and bottle was brewed 2025 oct 20 so it might have been less barley wineish and more crisp when fresher.
Still a very drinkable, good tasting rounded ipa with some ooomph on the flavor.

golden , bordering amber, soapy white head
good rounded lager aroma with flowery notes and slightly fruity notes and a fitting bitterness. not metallic, surprisingly decent aroma.
flavor is slighly sweet fruity, slightly flowery, good nearly herbal hoppy bitterness, no metal, soft mouthfeel, not very crisp, but the composition works well. again i'm fairly positively surprised, but then my expectations are low to begin with.

8.1/10 Appearance 7 Aroma 9 Flavor 8 Texture 7 Overall 8.5
pours dark brown with a light brown smooth head with bubbles
awesome bourbon and wood notes on a solid roasted malted base, mellow and velvety, not pastry stoutish sweet, more like sweet and salty licorice with coconut and chocolate, close to perfect bourbon ba imp stout aroma and the alc is kept hidden, no stingy nose here. the many months on wood has rounded it and mixed up everything well, but have not added weird notes or mouldy rustic notes or the like. really successful clean barrelling.
flavor is roasted malts, bourbon notes, a lot of wood notes, so much that the wood notes are too big compared to the bourbon notes and roasted malty nots. imagine beer filtered trough sawdust. still good but pretty damn woody. cedar woody notes, roasted malty notes and bourbon notes near perfect, nearly no burnt caramel or other off flavors. They clearly should not have aged it any longer than this - but at 35 months it is insane how balanced the end result turned out to be.
easy drinking for it's kind and dangerously easy drinking at that. very subtle wild'ish notes probably from barrelling, those subtle notes are all over the place like in a good belgian quad - but they are faint. This, hower, adds complexity and a lot to discover as you work your way through your bottle. compared to the heavy aroma and flavor, the texture feels a bit thin.

dark golden, small white creamy head
syrupy malty, corn, flowers, faint wheaty notes.
flavor is sweet malty, syrupy, bitter from alc. end is short and lacks hoppy bitterness, makes the beer a bit hard to drink fast (probably also healthier to drink it slow). The worst is probably that the alc. bitterness is so easy to spot.
