Oakes Profile - Brewver

Doesn’t look like much…dull brown. No head. Sticky, mapley, sugars and alcohol. This was such a groundbreaking beer…it’s hard to conceptualize and I had Millenium. Molasses and oak. Refined, fuck. Awesome.

Cloudy, thick head. Aroma is leather, earthy. Soft, sweet, nice pear, peach accents. Sweet and mellow, refined, only mild wildness. Very good.

Big aroma, nice barrel, comes across like a stout. Soft fruity, mellow barley wine fruit, light tree fruit and beautiful barrel.

Opaque, no head. Aroma has a touch of fruit, a touch of leather. On the palate, there’s mellow spice(maybe nutmeg & cardamom), light cherry, a bit of sweetness underpinning. Basically flat, letting the juiciness come through.

Dark brown, no head. Lots of cinnamon and soft sticky malts, plenty of vanilla and a bit of a boozy finish. Good balance and assertive spice.

Hazy, pale, thin head. Aroma is mild pomelo amd gooseberry…but mild. Soft pale malt, bright melon and pomelo hop character.
