Can. Mitchell’s Wines. Deep hazy rose pink. Slim ring of off white suds. Nose has tinned strawberry. Raspberry jam. Some hop in there. Taste is mega sweet first with a jarring almost acrid bitterness. Sticky and tooth numbing. Bitter finish. It’s like that strawberry flavoured penicillin medicine we had when we were kids. Not for me.

Can. High Peak Wine and Beer. Hazed lemon meringue colour. Frothy white foam. Nose has lemon squash. Seltzer. Wheat. Taste is dry overall. Light body with high carbonation. Dry and light bodied on the finish. Needs some sweetness for me. Ok.

Bottle. Cheers Trevor. 2020 on the front label. Back label says Batch 14 Bottled 02.03.2024. ABV is 7.4. Misted glowing orange gold. No head. Nose has loads of barrel. Sweet plump grape. Leathery funk. Smelly apple along the lines of Dabinett and all of that. Taste is semi sweet baked apple with funky dryness. Goes ultra easy throughout. Slick smelly apple oaky finish. Class.

Clear gold. Slim white foam. Dry malts and a little nettle leaf hop. Clean and easy. Got smashed down in the 36° heat very easy.

Crown capped bottle. Mitchell’s Wines. Clear gold. Solid only just off white swede. Pretty clean and crisp overall. Light sweet malt. Slightly earthy hoppage. Moderate bitterness throughout. Could have been more punchy on the hop front, but anyway it got necked quick enough.

Cask. Clowne Community Centre, after Liz’s funeral. Jesus. Wasn’t expecting this, someone I’ve known more than half my lifetime. Never failed to make you laugh. Completely crackers. Owned a skateboarding boxer dog. Anyway. Beer was quite nice. Floral and easy drinking. Good nick too. See you later Liz.

Can. Mitchell’s Wines. Gave it a shake and it pours nice and orangey in a very fine swede (see pic). Nice hoppage here behind the fruit purée. Tangy and bright citrus. Some pineapple flesh. Light creamy malt backdrop. Taste is juicy sweet and semi tart. Good body. Tart refreshing juicy finish. Good gear. Smashed it.

Bottle. High Peak Beer and Wine. Hazed gold. Has that Torrside homebrew look about it. Decent thin sticky white foam though. Nose has light smoke (contains oak smoked wheat). Overripe oranges. Herbal notes along the lines of new sage leaves. Quite earthy overall. But fruity too. Taste semi sweet with a good dose of herbal bitterness. Good body for the 4% and drinks easy and tasty. Nicely rounded bitter finish. Nice one.
