Can. Home Bargains. £1.49 my dang. Mostly clear orangey gold. Slim sticky just off white swede. Big Nectaron hoppage here. No shortage for sure. Sweet malt backdrop. Smells sweet. Further notes of spicy biscuit and well ripe citrus. Taste is similarly sweet with a fair pithy bitterness. Decent body overall. A tad sticky maybe. Bitter finish with some welcome dryness. Can’t complain really. Not same league as the Kiwi job though.

Can. Home Bargains. Looks like it was packaged 3 weeks ago. Hazed pale gold. Decent white suds stay the course. Nose has a pissy grapey twang. Pale grain. Some oats. Some pithy citrus. Taste has a moderate sweetness with pithy bitterness. Light and fairly clean overall. Dries out toward the finish. Nice and fresh and at £1.49 a pop it’s a bit of a winner.

Bottle. Bee, Darnall. Looks like healthy piss. Apple ice pop and some faint grassy notes. Syrup. Sweetener. Some dung, bizarrely. Thin and sweet. Good burps though. Did a few chugs and it went down the sink.

Bottle. Bier Huis Ossett. Birthday gift from the missus. Thin and acidic with notes of acetone throughout. Shame because others in this series have been mostly top tier.

Bottle, I’m guessing picked up at the brewery at some point pre Rich’s 50th. Clear deep cherry red. Slim pink foam. Nose has earthy sour cherry. Cherry liqueur. Lots of oak and must. Taste is dry tart and bitter. Fairly acidic overall. Pretty thin and harshly acidic on the palate. Dry and acidic finish. Nope. Not nearly drinkable as it stands.

Bottle. Welbeck Farm Shop. Nearly black. Thin sticky beige foam. Nose has antiseptic. Bit of cardboard. Literally nothing suggests there’s a barrel aged stout in the glass. Taste is savoury and sweet. Some acidity. Some burnt bitterness. Oily and cloying. Nasty bitter finish. Shite.
