Appearance - 8 | Aroma - 7 | Flavor - 6.5 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 6.5

Can. High Peak Wine and Beer. Mostly clear pale gold. Decent Buxton swede. Nose has light sweet malt. Whiff of flora. Some notes of honey. Taste is fairly sweet first up with a hefty bosh of quite rough bitterness. Drinks decent enough overall. Feels a bit heavy somehow. Lingering bitterness to finish. Ok.

Bottle. Bee Darnall. Label says nothing about it being unpasteurised. But I can’t find anything else on here. Well chilled in anticipation of it being necessary. Christ this is sweet. Like tooth achingly so. Even really cold. I mean it’s the first beer of the evening so it’s going down, but it’s not easy and it’s not pleasant. I’ll pull through fine, but it’s not a bev I’ll bother with again. Bit grim.

Bottle via the online shop. Hazed deep orange gold. Beautiful fat swede. This is like a Gloucestershire version of Dulle Teve Riserva. Heady and rich with a bright oaky funky tartness cutting through. Preposterous that this is 11%. Beautiful. Could have done 2 bottles consecutively no problem. Class.

Bottle via the online shop. Deep ruby red. Thick lasting beige foam. Soft smoke. Fusty oak. Ripe vine fruit. Some coffee and dark chocolate. Phenolic marker pen action throughout. Unreal complex but easy drinking. Boss.

6 pack from Aldi (obviously). Got these because there was fuck all else on the shelves. Anyhoo. Clear straw gold. Pretty decent white swede stays the course well. Very grassy gassy and bitter. Drinks easy overall. Maybe feels a tad flabby but at the price point it’s definitely a bev I’d get in again when I’m after a steady away fridge filler.
