0.25 l on tap at the BeerTemple. Hazy, dark brownish red with a thin, creamy, tan head. Sweetish, fruity-malty aroma of raisins, prunes, brown sugar and almond. Sweetish-sourish taste of red grapes, raisins, oak, wine vinegar and almond, followed by a short, slightly tart finish. Thin to medium body, slightly effervescent and light astringent mouthfeel, flat. Very harmonic with a nice balance between the acidity and the sweetness. Rather fruity, still highly refreshing. Very good!

Tiny growler. Amber with an off-white head that retreats to the rim straight away. Aroma of berries, bracken, apples, caramel. Quite sour, perhaps not as acidic as expected - and no vinegar at all. Thin lassi-like texture, low carbonation. Under-ripe berries, apples, toffee, damp undergrowth, some hard spices. Deeply refreshing. Very lovely indeed.

Cask. Dark cherry brown. 2 finger dense whip cream head. Aroma: Brown sugar nose, oak, cherry, peach and tannins/red wine. Taste: decent mouthfeel. A bit oily and slick. Tastes very young. Medium oak finis. Cherry, bramble and kiwi taste. Very tropical. Aged hops and for sure a lot of tartness.

(Draught at Beer Temple, Amsterdam, 1 March 2015) Brownish amber colour with foamy, off-white head. Fruity, sourish nose with notes of tart fruit, vinegar, oak wood and caramel. Fruity, tart taste with a slightly sharp vinegar taste, caramel, black-currant, sour fruit and a bitter-sweet finish with a touch of balsamic vinegar. Medium body, with a slightly bitter-sweet character. Fresh, tasty and quite tart. Not as complex and balanced as the Grand Cru, but still ... a nice one.

After just missing this beer in Belgium a couple of times I find it serendipitous that it should be on at Six Degrees North in my hometown of Aberdeen. It pours clear deep red-brown with small beige head. The nose is earthy, funky, damp wood, sweet tangy berry and sour red fruits. The taste is crisp, tart. yet sweet and tangy, strawberry, cherry, acidic pucker, earth, wet leaf, wood and balsamic vinegar. Finishes up dry. Medium body and fine carbonation. I rather like the balance. Tasty and very drinkable. Rodenbach I expected nothing less. Originally a 4, but after a couple more halves this crept up to a 4.2 easy. Damn drinkable.
