Great leave on this bitter. Slightly floral smell and pours out a nice murky redish colour. 330ml bottle in Canmore.

Bottle thanks to savvy1982. Pours with a lightly hazed golden body with a light brown tinge and a bone hued off-white head. Aromas of honey, biscuit, caramel, coconut, bread, grain and a light grassy hop note. Flavors are decently bitter, grainy, bready, light astringency towards the back. Grainy. Medium drinkability. Finishes extremely bitter for what it is. Lively bubbles. Off-dry. Okay.

A golden ale with a thick lacing white head. A light caramel malt aroma, with nice British hops, mineral notes, light and pleasant. In mouth, a light nutty malt with pinhey British hops, mineral notes, a bit light. On tap at Hart and Thistle, Oct. 12 2009.

Bottle: Poured an orangey color ale with a good size foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of sweet caramelized malt with hints of dry English hops with some nice floral undertones. Taste is sweeter then expected but well balanced with some floral and dry English style hops. Body is quite full with good carbonation. Well done and more complex then anticipated while not really being close to style but really, who cares?

This old bitter poured a dark orange colour with a big, creamy off white head. Nice lacing. To the nose there are scents of hopps, hopps and more hopps. Also citrus, juniper berries, pineapple and dough. First taste was very hoppy with flavours of pineapple, cream, citrus and malt. Finish is bitter with hopps lingering forever. Palate too is bitter with hopp flavour lasting forever.

Golden-amber. Woody, hedgerow aroma. “Countryish” flavour – fields & hay. Sweetish character. More bitter & woody towards the finish, with notes of caramel.
