A brewhouse favourite, this beer was brewed for the first time in our tiny pilot premises in Stoke Newington, hence the name. Brown ale is making a welcome comeback and this is our take on the style. A juicy but light malt backbone gives plenty of support to the generous hops. We love drinking this one.

Bottle at The Garabaldi, Northampton, Saturday 7th June 2014 with Bob & Bill Pours hazy brown with a light filmy head. This is quite chocolatey but with a good hoppy rush, though it isn’t too bitter. I like the hops, bitter good quality cocoa taste and soft carnonation, all combine to make this a very nice beer. A7 A3 T7 P4 Ov14 3.5

Bottle from Archer Road Beer Stop, Sheffield. Clear, dark brown. Sticky, thin, lasting, pale tan head. Looks the bee’s. Dark malt. Some smoke. Some liquorice. The grassy hops are there, too. Taste is smoky, chocolatey dryness. A fruity, toffee slick of sweetness pays a brief visit. Dry, light bitter finish. Very brown. Very nice.
