Bottleshare at CBJ. Thanks to LKS for this cellar special. Near clear amber beer, small and short lived bubbly tan head. Light and semi dry palate, good fine minerally carbonation. Toffee caramel malts, a little creamy. Ripe fruits. Bourbon soaked fruits. Ripe citrus peel. Semi dry finish leaves a mild spicy linger. Decent.

Bottle: Poured a clear light copper color ale with a small foamy head with limited retention. Aroma of grainy malt with some bourbon notes and vanilla is pleasant enough. Taste is a nice mix between some woody notes with vanilla and bourbon and some grainy and caramelized malt notes. Body is a bit thin with good carbonation and some warming alcohol notes. Quite pleasant barleywine and very little oxidation for a 2011 vintage tasted in 2016.

A reddish copper barleywine with a thin off white head. In aroma, sweet caramel malt with light vinous notes, light bourbon barrel notes, woody notes, alcohol warmth, very nice and smooth. In mouth, a nice sweet caramel malt with vinous notes, loads of treacle, light butterscotch, resinous hops, light nutty notes, alcohol warmth, light bourbon vanilla, very nice. Bottle from Pushkinwow at GRMs tasting.

22 oz. bottle, 2012 vintage purchased at Georgios in Billerica, MA. Aroma is spot on for the style, prunes, raisin and sweet caramel, toffee.
Flavor is nice. Sweet without any booze, raisins, caramel dipped dates, sweet English malts, tones of yeast. The alcohol is not found at this point, the mouthfeel is lightly oily with a super sweet dried fruit finish. ABV is super smooth at this point, no oxidation found. Love how barely wines tastes at this point in the evolution. Solid sipper.
