Bottle at home in Hackney - picked up at Malt Attacks in Brussels. Slow gusher. Pours clear pale yellow with a fluffy, white head. Nice aroma, some lemon peel, wheat flakes, smoke and peat. Light sweet flavour with moderate grassy bitterness, husky grain, dry peat, very slight lemony tang. Light bodied with lively, massaging carbonation. Fairly clean and dry in the finish, with more grassy bitterness, very slight astringency, more peaty character. Not bad overall.

Clear pale blond beer, small creamy white head, little stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: soft smoky notes, bit floral, banana, yeast, sweetish. MF: very lively carbon, medium to light body. Taste: bit watery, very smoky, peated, soft acidity, pretty bitter, some citrus, nice stuff! Aftertaste: bitter touch, bit watery, peated, cheesy touch, smoky finish. Nice one, I like it!

Pours unclear blonde, small white head. Smell is mild grainy. Touch of funk. Taste is full, very mild smoke, malty, light hoppyness.

Tasting glass @ brewery. Small white head. Nose is muted Grodziskie smoke, weird muted smoked mineral wheat, lightly metallic corn, lacks body, is too muted & has a Grodziskie profile that feels classical but not fully my thing, lacks some body & expression. Bit weak.

Draft @ BBP. Dorée, col léger blanc. Arôme au bouquet bien tourbé sans pour cela être surfait, petite note pils? fleuri noble dans un style allemand-polonais du moins si les houblons le sont? Palais est finement tourbé, très léger avec un effet de fumé restant constant et plaisant. Légère pointe d’aigreur et un côté eau de brassin pour un fini ’watery’ mais qui reste bien développé. Amertume est correcte, balance le tout dans un style noble.

02/06/2017 - 12,5cl glass @BBP. Clear light yellow with small white head. Nose is bit wattery malts, peat. Taste is bit corn, wattery malts, some peat. A bit too wattery.

As 0034. Tap at Kaapse 3rd Anniversary. Hazy yellow with chunks of smegma. Sweet plastic malts, corn bread. Light sweet and light bitter. Under medium body. Soft carbonation.

Tap at Kaapse festival. Clear pale golden with lots of small white clumps that look like small maggots floating around. Light smoke, watery malts, soft mineral water. Not much more aroma than some smoke and light mineral water. Very light bitter. Light bodied.

Draft at Kaapse 3 year anniversary festival. Cloudy yellow golden with yeast floaters and a ring white head. Aroma of citrus, herbs, and light mineral notes. Flavour is light sweet and bitter. Light bodied with soft carbonation.
