Keg tap at the Two-Tailed Lion in Leicester for their NYE Kernel Tap Takeover. Light yellow colour, close to straw. Hazy with a thin and uneven white head. Banana, pineapple, apricot and lemon biscuit in the hoppy aroma. Sweet, creamy taste, which morphs almost imperceptibly to bitterness for the long finish. Pineapple and lemon cream in the aftertaste. Soft carbonation. They really nailed this one.

330ml bottle @Bir&Fud (Rome). Pours acid yellow, a bit unclear, with a little head. Aroma is powerful, hoppy, peach and citrus notes, grapefruit and tropical fruit, malt, nice. Flavour is light sweet with a medium bitter end, light malt profile. Medium body, medium to light carbonation. Nice IPA.

Huge thanks to Toby for digging this out the archives as after much searching around London, this had passed me by. Very hazy gold beer, tidy cream colour head. Palate is light and semi dry and minerally crisp. Light, smooth and sweetish pale malts. Hops are piney orange with a whisper of skunk. Minor hop spice and a little orange peel bitterness. Light semi dry finish. Normal Kernel chuggability!

Bottle that Jim bought at London Beer Lab and shared- cheers. Amber with a moderate white head. Nice tropical fruit aroma, definitely peaches there. The flavour is not quite as potent; it’s bitter from the off with grapefruit gradually developing into rather sweeter orange. It finishes dry. Pretty pleasant stuff overall.

Keg at Fox. It pours hazy pale gold with a small white head. The nose is fresh, juicy, minerals, apricot, white peach, marmalade, spice, grassy action and cracker. The taste is crisp, bitter, minerals, orange rind, tangerine, passion fruit, pepper, waxy citrus and straw with a bone dry finish. Medium body and moderate, foamy carbonation. Crisp and crushable. Very nice indeed.

Keg at the brewery taproom. Pours clear gold with a foamy white head. Shy citrus fruits in the nose, some grapefruit, tangerine, pine needles. Light sweet flavor with moderate pale pine hitterness, dry pale malts, lemon peel. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Lightly grassy on the finish, with more subtly rindy citrus fruits, pale bread sweetness. Great stuff.

Keg at the brewery. Aroma is lovely juicy fruit, floral lemon, really fresh. Hazed bright golden / orange coloured pour with a lasting sticky white head. Flavour is composed of clean grainy base malts, little grassy, lemon citrus. Simple and very well balanced. Palate is crisp, moderate carbonation, nice dry finish.
