Bottle: Poured a deep cloudy brown color ale with a large light brown foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of residual sugar, dry fruits, whiskey notes with some caramelized malt is just about perfect. Taste is also a great mix of dry fruits with some residual sugar notes and some caramelized malt and light warming alcohol notes. Body is full with great carbonation and light warming alcohol notes. Rich with some smooth barrel-aged notes and some great complexity while retaining drinkability.

Sample from 75 cl bottle. Hazy, dark amber colour with a thin, lightly tanned head. Sweet aroma with rich caramel malts, toasted notes, whisky barrel, liquorice, dark, dried fruits, chocolate and a subtle herbal hops. Taste is sweet. Full body with an oily texture and a soft carbonation. Finishes lasting sweet with lingering whisky barrel and toasted notes. Excellent barrel ageing, with a good base beer.

Bottle, 75cl corked. It’s a dark brown beer, lightly unclear, with a dense, two-finger beige head. Delicious sweetish Belgian style aroma with a hint of booze. Dried fruits, bread, caramel, spiced hints and a rum-like note in the aroma. Raisin. It’s full-bodied and nicely carbonated, small bubbles. Sweet and close to sticky on the palate, with a little alcohol warmth. Caramel, dried fruits, a spiced touch, some bread hints, a nice bitterness, a pleasant whisky hint and some chocolate hints in the flavor. Lasting sweet and dried fruits finish with a subdued boozyness. A really delicious and tasteful beer I wouldn’t mind repeating. 161105

Dark amber color with a tan head. Ok intensity in the aroma. A bit sweet and a oily texture. Full body and a soft carbonation. Fruity, vanilla, oak, quite mild whisky in the flavor. Compleax and still balanced.

Bottle 750ml @ Geokkjer
Pours dark reddish brown with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of caramel, malt, dried fruits, whisky, alcohol and hint of nuts. Taste is medium to heavy sweet and light bitter with a long warm, caramel and dried fruity finish. Body is full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

Cork and caged 0.75 litre bottle (Batch 001, Autumn 2015) between four of us at the 25th Oct 2016 Shrewsbury Beer Share: cheers to me for bringing this. Red hue to the brown body, beige head, thin but lasting. Vanilla and whisky notes in the nose and taste, a bit sweeter than I expected, but I liked it. My sweet tooth wins again.

75cl bottle @ monthly tasting, Chez Sophie, Oct 16. Many thanks to Jeremy for this. Pours deep reddish brown, modest cream-coloured head. Aroma is lightly sweet, earthy spice. Taste is smooth, easy-drinking with light woody, earthy spice, smooth rich malts. Sadly lacking in whisky although there are some vanilla nods. Lovely beer, but the latest Indulgence wipes the floor with this.

Bottle. Mig’s World Wines, Brussels. Clear, dark, ruby red. Thin, dense, lasting, beige head. Nose has sweet, vanilla oak. Caramel. Fig. Vanilla fudge. Stewed apple and vine fruit. Taste is sweet and chewy, and boozy and woody. Silky mouthfeel. Drinks under the hefty ABV. Finish is silky, sweet and woody, with a bit of a vinous, estery dry close. Hugely tasty and surprisingly drinkable.

750ml bottle all to myself, picked up from Dranken Geers, Oostakker, Nr Gent, Belgie consumed at Camping Corfewater, Pettern, Nord, Holland, Netherlands 27th September 2016 Pours reddy brown with a wonderful ruby glint in the right light, good clarity a mid sized light beige head sits atop. Very soft carbonation, lots and lots of vanilla, creamy and smooth the whisky is quite subtle. Easy drinking despite the abv, a little spicy and a touch sweet but really pleasant, can’t believe how oaky and vanilla laden this is, good beer. A7 A5 T7 P4 Ov14 3.7

Flaske 750ml fra Vinmonopolet Tromsø - Langnes. Drukket på Øverhøgda i selskap med Egil. Amber. Middels høyt skum som daler raskt. Lett whiskyaroma. Smaken behagelig. Mest mandler - men whiskypreget ligger behagelig i bakgrunnen. Alkoholen godt kamuflert.
