White oak is native to North America and typically contains a higher vanillin content than its European counterpart, which has a strong influence on the flavour of whatever comes into contact with it once it's made into barrels.
Our white oak is air-dried for 24 months before before it's made into casks and then charred to create a natural barrier between the spirit and the very heavy, virgin vanilla flavour that's locked within the grain of the wood. It's only at this point that our beer would come into contact with it either as a cask or as chips in our Oakerators®.
Malt: I & G ale malt, Malted Wheat & Lager Malt
Hops: Super Styrian & Fuggle
Maturations: Over bourbon-infused oak heartwood in our Oakerators®
Finishing Touch: Infused with dried bergamot and blood orange oil to create a fragrant and refreshing finish.

Bottled. Gold pout. Could taste a serous caramel oak sweetness mixed with acidic wheat flavor. Interesting.

Old rating from 22-11-15 - 330ml bottle, pours a dark gold clear colour with a medium white head. Aromas of oak and mildly of wheat. Tastes of oak, spices, caramel, wheat & sweet malt with a slight alcoholic aftertaste. Overall I quite enjoyed this one.

Clear golden pour with a medium white head. Some light floral aromas, honey, soft citrus, oak, woody, earthy hops, and the innis and gunn trademark butter. Heaviy, slightly oily mouth feel with a soft carb. Finish is slightly sweet, subtle wheat flavour, with light lemon and floral herbs, with a buttery, earthy oak finish.

Keg at I&G , Dundee. It pours hazy blonde with a scummy white head. The aroma is fragrant, warming spice, punchy clove rock, intoxicating, aniseed balls, fireballs, wheat bread and a touch of banana. The taste is bitter - sweet, banana split, wheat bread, iced sponge cake, warming spice, big hit of clove, clove rock, light alcohol warmth, spice and grass with a drying finish. Medium body and fine, foamy carbonation. Good depth for the style. Nice one

(Bottle) Pale amber colour with frothy, white head. Malty, wheaty nose with apricots, white bread, honey, hay, orange peel, spicy wheat, wood, vanilla and a touch of Earl Grey tea. Malty, fruity taste with notes of honey, apricots, orange peel, vanilla, oak wood, bread and some tea. Fairly low bitterness. Medium body, with a certain sweetness. Tasty and quite well balanced. Quite nice.

Aus der Flasche 2015-08 getrunken. Ein helles Bier ähnlich eines Kristallweizens doch nicht so leicht süsslich und wunderbar dicht am Innis & Gunn "Original" oder "Rum Finish" dran. Klasse! Ein weiteres tolles Bier aus der "Innis & Gunn"-Familie.

Bottle from B&M Bargains, Halifax. Golden with a carbonation. Seems to be a mix of few styles, and ends up not being much. Bland tasting, mild sugars, crisp, with a hint of fruit in its nose.
