A love story between beer and wine, that meet and a perfect balance in an absolutely new product. 40% of Sangiovese wine must (courtesy of Tenuta di Bibbiano, Siena, Tuscany) and 60% wort (our very own Duchessa) ferment together, as a unique alchemy, following all the steps of “Metodo Classico”. Sangiovese is one of the most important Italian vines, the most cultivated in Italy. If you look for a wine that for history and 34 personality always attracts both connoisseurs and simple enthusiasts, this is Sangiovese. It can be perfectly balanced, with very elegant, oral and intense but fragile scents. The wine is ruby, graceful, the tannins are powerful but silky. Flowers emerge and the red fruits rise the acidity. In this unique product we nd all the complexity and the fascinating notes of the wine incredibly balanced and seduced by the elegance of Duchessa, while perlage and body wink to elegant Italian sparkling wines. We have been brewing L’Equilibrista since 2009 in September, during grape harvest and its availability and characteristics vary from year to year, just like the wines. The Liqueur d’expedition gives continuity, thanks to a small amount of older Equilibrista always kept in its magic formula.

Tasting at Bruce’s pad. Hazy amber beer, pink tinged. Pale peach coloured head. Airy palate with fine carbonation. Subtle peach and water melon. Light grapey winey vibe on top. Light minerals. Soft airy finish. Not bad but suffering in comparison to the vibrant white wine ba Burning Sky, a few bottles back.

Bottle shared in London - thanks to Kenneth. Pours mostly deep gold with a froth, white head. The nose has sugary fruits, bread, peach. Medium sweet, some ripe apples, wet wood, berries. Medium to full bodied with fine to average carbonation. Finishes with some tangy fruits, mild wood, apple, peach, melon. Tasty. Good stuff.

Bottle thanks to Colin. It pours hazy reddish with a small fizzy off white head. The nose is earthy, hay, some acidity, jammy, light ketchup, wood and tang. The taste is earthy, woody, jammy, berry, must, grape skin and alcohol with a dry finish. Medium body and effervescent carbonation. A bit sweet if truth be told and lacking in depth. Jammy.

24/03/2013 750ml bottle @ La Tana (thankd Dario for sharing!). Rosa antico, lievemente torbida, schiuma leggera che svanisce rapidamente. Aroma vinoso, sentori di champagne, acidulo, frutta rossa e malto, leggeri off flavours.

Bottle thanks to Ansjelaah. Clear rose-like reddish color, no head. Don’t get much aroma other than winey and some sourness. Taste lightly sourness, winey, some alcohol and just great. Medium to full body and medium carbonation. Lovely beer.

Bottle shared at Beer Temple tasting. Pours clear amber with no head. Aroma initially hits as being pure Champaigne, thought I would go further with this but I can’t, it smells like Champaigne, and it tastes like Champaigne. There’s a little malt that comes through but really nothing else. If this is a beer it’s one of the strangest I’ve had!
