Bottle. cloudy orange amber, big off-white lacing head. Fairly spicy nose: clove, orangepeel, pineneedles, minerals. Good dry fruit base - peaches, orangepeel, typical belgian yeast notes. Creamy and sparkly mouthfeel. Very pleasant.

On tap at Elysian Brewing Seattle, pours out a murky ligth tan topped with a white cream head. Very nice notes of spice and yeast. The Alcohol was pretty easy to pickup on. not a bad tripel

Hazy golden coloured body with a nice super dense white head. Aroma of strong yeast and wheat with a little coriander seed and a lot of floral aromas. Medium to Full-bodied; Strong wheat and yeast taste with some sweetness lingering further behind. Aftertaste shows a lot of character - yeast and spice show through very well. Overall, a damn good tripel, strong in flavour, yet still somewhat light enough to drink during the summer. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Whole Foods in Seattle, Washington on 06 July 07.

Undated bomber drunk on 1/19/07 at Monk’s Café
Very strong bottle-carbonation produces a large white head that is rocky and very long-lasting. Moderate haziness, despite my best attempt to leave the sediment behind. Milky-golden/platinum body is very pale with only light honey tints on the edges. Moderate amounts of webby lacing are produced.
Sweet cream and large amounts of vanilla practically erupt from the glass. Unfortunately, there’s a strong hint of oxidation which dulls things considerably. Peaches and nectarines, lots of residual sweetness and moderate, peppery phenols all seem to add the requisite notes, but it smells a bit too sweet and creamy. It definitely needs a big shot of dryness and it never really gets it. Some alcohol warmth combines with the esters to deliver a bit of dryness, but the oxidation adds an artificially sweet note that prevents any real refreshing dryness from developing. Warming just allows the heavy vanilla-cream notes to proceed, while allowing some banana, wheat and more peach notes to come forth as well.
Thick, doughy, heavily sugary body is full of honeycream and vanilla sweetness to the max. Light hints of canned peaches combine with alcohol dryness, beginning to cut a swath through the sweetness, but it ends up just getting punchy, while bready oxidation and bland yeast deliver a premature finish. Some notions of grass and light herbs from the hops, but it’s mostly just a soggy bitterness, almost tasting vegetal. Sweetness rolls on and soon it’s pretty near cloying/fatiguing. Frothy, engaging carbonation, but the medium amount of it is not even enough to lighten this body. Even without the oxidation, it’s way too sweet, nor is there much variation to the honey-vanilla malt flavors. Lots of doughiness on the finish as well. No sign of my favorite hop being used well here (styrians).

On tap at Elysian, Seattle. Cloudy orange/gold colour with lasting off white head. Lemon/wheat Belgian yeast wit aroma. Lots of fruit in mouth, tangerine/lemon, good intense fruit balanced by hop and cereal. Very zesty. Belgian wit and tripel collide. Excellent flavours especially the zesty citrus fruits.

tap at the brewpub - Pours cloudy orangish with a moderate head. There’s a sweet smelling aroma with some yeast and citrus. The flavor is sweet with mild citrus and spice notes. This is a smooth, light, and easy drinking for the style. It could use more depth, but it’s good. Rerate from the bottle: 7/3/7/3/13 Averaging the 3.6 and 3.3 to a 3.5.

Golden orange hazed ale with a thick white head. Nice coriander malt with some herbal notes, and light yeast. In mouth, a rich malt with coriander orange peels, but some harshness in finale. Overall, a nice beer. Mondial 2006.

Cloudy beige colour. Aroma shows big coriander, dust-accented yeast, and a bit of pale malt. The body is firm and more or less dry. Spicy, fruity flavours atop confident pale malts. Not so brave in interpretation but solid in execution.
