Robust red-brown ale full of hoppy/ spicy flavours, ’Native Storm’ has a refreshing mouthfeel complemented by a powerful presense of fresh hoppy aromas. The complex range of ingredients coupled with a long dry hop finish result in a delicious and moreish Welsh ale.’

Clear copper beer with a thick creamy head. Spicy aroma. Initial taste seems overly sweet but it settles and is fruity and spicy. Has a bitter dry finish.

Paid $5.00 for a 500ml bottle @ The Beer Store, Nashua. Amber color in an Sam Adams perfect pint glass. Nose is an English caramel malt. Flavor is weak malt notes, bittering hops that I can’t really pint point any type of variety. Body is light with texture being on the watery side. This would be a nice drink on cask at a pub. But the bottle is lacking any real flavor or depth. I guess that’s why I don’t drink many Bitter’s. Could be a good session brew in the right circumstance.

Bottle: Poured a clear light brown color ale with a small bubbly head with average retention and no lacing. Aroma of unrefined grainy notes with light dry bitter hops profile. Taste is also dominated by slightly weird unrefined grainy notes with a dry aftertaste. Body is light with medium to low carbonation. I must say that I really didn’t dig the malt profile on this one.

New product line introduced to NH, what the hell the bottle looks cool. Pours a clear deep dark golden color with a smallish off white head that dissipates to a cap. Smells of caramel malt, toffee, butterscotch, earthy with a hint of mineral water. The flavor holds no surprises that the nose hadn’t already revealed. Lightly caramelized sugar, toffee, lots of light sweet fruit, a bit of butterscotch mineral and earth. Medium body with a moderate level of carbonation and a sweet almost tart mouthfeel. Nice English pale, I could see myself plowing through a few of these if I were sitting in a pub on the other side of the pond.

Cask at The Willow Walk, JDW, London. Pours clear gold with a tight, white cream head. Crisp straw nose, hints of lemon. Light to medium sweet flavor with some spices, straw, crisp dough, dry reeds. Light to medium bodied with fine, smooth carbonation. Mild sticky finish with faintly spicy hay and leaves. Basic, aside from that spice edge.

An orange amber ale with a thick frothy light mocha head. In aroma, pils like German hopping, with light biscuit malt, grassy character. In mouth, a nutty caramel malt with some nice herbal hopping, lingering light bitterness, veering in German territory. Bottle from LCBO, BB01-13.

Purchased at the Niagara Falls’ LCBO on my trip there. Pours a clean amber colour with a creamy off-white head that stays a while, looking like froth on a good coffee. Beautiful grain malt with hop perfume notes. Smooth mouthfeel with a slight dry finish. The taste is mild, so easy to drink, but with still lots of character. Caramel malts, nutty hints and decent hop bitterness. Probably a great brew to have at a Wales pub, along a great conversation.
