A maroon 'Dubbel' with a malty and spicy fragrance, a mildly bitter flavour and a dry aftertaste. Her sweet scents of licorice and rock candy accompany her full taste of fruit and spices. This fiery flame has a spicy character but is mild to handle.

Pour un style peu évident car ne permettant pas une complexité ou intensité aromatique incroyable, cette Dulle Griet s'en sort très bien, servi en premier lieu par un excellent équilibre malt/houblon/alcool et une alliance aromatique appréciable sur le chocolat, la prune, la réglisse, un léger poivre et une pincée d'herbes. L'ensemble nous offre une double élégante et élancée. Le visuel est sur un brun légèrement trouble (EBC de 75) avec une mousse brune très fine. Le nez présente des arômes de caramel, réglisse avec un très léger chocolat. Ce dernier est beaucoup plus présent à la dégustation. Sur l'attaque nous avons ainsi un cocktail chocolat, réglisse, prune, caramel avec un léger poivre. L'amertume, pourtant qu'à 16 d'EBU confère une fraîche certaine s'alliant très bien avec une base maltée pas trop dense. L'alcool donne quant à lui une belle profondeur du haut de ses 6,5 %. L'arrière bouche plus douce est relevé par des herbes alors que le final, sobre mais fin est sur une dominante chocolat. Bien réalisée.

Off white head, disappearing fat. Raisinny portoaroma. Sweet flavor with chocolate, pear, caramel, coffee and some roasted malt. Full bodied. Amazingly good beer!

Foggy deep brown, moderate ivory head. Nose: moderately intense fruity and spicy yeast, caramel and toast. Medium body. Taste: rather dry, initially malty and yeasty. Caramel, toast, spice, dried fruit, hop, some alcohol. The latter two are responsible for pronounced and somewhat harsh bitterness.

Bottle from a Carrefour in Bruges - thanks to Kenny! Pours hazy dark chestnut brown with a lasting, small, frothy, off-white, almost tan, head; little lacing. Inviting aroma of raisin, red grapes, plum & peach, caramel, marzipan, cookie dough, frangipane, 'carré confiture'. It tastes medium malty sweet, hints of plum & caramel, touch of almond, and light herbal bitter, some 'spicy licorice', very mildly toasted. Dryish, spicy, herbal hoppy finish, lingering caramel & red fruitiness. Medium body, creamy texture, fizzy carbonation. Well executed, nice stuff.

Sample from 33 cl bottle. Clear dark amber colour with a thin white head. Sweet aroma with caramel malts, yeasts, fruits. Taste is sweet. Medium body with a creamy texture and a soft carbonation. Finishes sweet with caramel malts and fruits.

Bottle@Lars place - Dark brown pour with beige head. Sweet and toasted malty with notes of caramel and toffee, medium body, touch of spice into the sweet malty finish.

Bottle from somewhere in Belgium. Dark brown colour lasting beige head. aroma of an abbey dubbel malty sweet. Drinkable sweetish malty beer. Rather decent i thought. Sweet malt but ok. Malt loaf. Fine.
