Our “San Diego Pale Ale.” Hop-driven from two key hops: citrus and pine from the wonderful and classic American Cascade, paired perfectly with the bright fruit and dankness of Australian Galaxy. With moderate bitterness and just enough malt backbone to elevate the hops, this Pale Ale is super-refreshing.
When it came to creating Ripper, we drew inspiration from the coastal surf cultures of SoCal and Oz. Sourcing classic Cascade from the Pacific Northwest and Australian Galaxy hops from…yes…Australia, we made a beer both lovers of frothy peaks and hoppy green buds will be stoked about. At the same time, we stayed true to our San Diego roots by pushing the hop boundaries of this style. While some might think it lingers on an edge far closer to an IPA, with all the dry-hop flavor and aroma, it’s actually right in line with the current-day interpretation of a West Coast pale. Ours just so happens to have an Aussie accent that’s cascading with a juicy amount of grapefruit and passion fruit hoppiness. So veg out or venture out. Either way, rip one open and taste this awesome golden nectar!

33cl can, brewed in Berlin, from Tesco, Amersham. A clear amber colour with a billowing offwhite head; predominantly malty aroma with a touch of citrus and pine resin in the background; fruity malt body, with a touch of caramel and then some sharp bitter fruity notes; then a smooth drier malty finish with some warmth and a touch of spice. Pleasantly assertive.

Can, 5.7%. Malty and fruity aroma, fairly distinct, but by no means overpowering. Cloudy grey/dark amber colour. Big stable creamy white head. The flavour is also fruity, perhaps not as malty as the aroma. Smells like it would have a hop bite, but it does not really.

Canned May 1st, part of a build your own 6pack bought at Liquor Shed.
Pours a hazy orange gold with a healthy head of foam, excellent lacing.
Smells of grapefruit, tropical fruit..mango, cracker malt, fairly balanced.
Mango and grapefruit stand out, cracker malt not that far behind. Juicy overall and rather delightful.
Good mouthfeel, good choice on my part.

A dark orange beer, a head is medium and blond. Aroma has some caramel malts, mild fruitness, wood. Taste has maltyness, some wood, only hint of fruitness. Nice bitterness. Medium bodied. Should be more aromatic.

Interessante Pale-Ale-Variante.

(can, 33cl, brewed in Berlin) Hazy, murky golden to amber colour with a short and off-white foamy head. Herbal, slightly ethereally and subtle citric hoppy aroma with slightly toasty malt and caramel. Slightly bitter and delicately sweet flavour, light to medium bodied with a crisp carbonation. Slightly toasty malt upfront with present herbal spicy and delicately fruity hops; moderately hop bitter and slightly mineralic finish. Okay. 12.VI.18
