At Holyrood 9A. I’ve got ’East End Saison’ written in my notes, so hoping this is the same beer. I think it has the same strength, etc. Appearance - golden with a decent lacy head. Nose - light orangey note, then some spice.Perhaps a hoppy saison version here. There’s still the spiciness you get with the saison yeast. Taste - lemon and pineapple, light saison spice, maybe white pepper or clove, on the end. Palate - close to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a long dry finish. Overall - there is the odd fruity IPA note but generally the saison yeast dominates in these situations and this is no exception. I like saisons but they don’t really vary hugely in experiences.

Keg at the Redchurch brewery during the London Bimble 26/04/2014. Golden coloured pour with alasting white head. Aroma is saison yeast, funk, phenols and spicy orange peel. Flavour is crisp grains, irange and lemon citrus. Tangy orange peel in the finish. Palate is medium body, grainy and spritzy carbonation. Decent

Keg @ The Fox, Dalston. A beautiful hazy gold saison with bright pithy lemon notes and a touch of spice. The yeast is nicely balanced against a bright sweetness whilst maintaining a decent saison mouthfeel. In all, a sharp, refreshing take on the style.

Keg at Redchurch. London Bimble. It pours hazy golden with a thick white head. The nose is fresh, doughy, earth, orange, tangerine, peach, hay and barnyard. The taste is fresh, spicy, hay, candied orange peel, sherbet, good bitterness, mango and passion fruit with a dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Good balance and depth of flavour. Nice work.

Keg at Redchurch Brewery. Golden with a nice sizeable head. Limoncello and kumquat in the aroma. The taste is a sense bomb: salty/sweet gives way to a gentle bitterness. Sweet/salty/umami finish. Really nice.

Consumed at home in the company of Loz, Craig, Stella & Kids plus Jackie & Simon 02.08.13 Big thanks to Simon & Jackie for this one. Pleasant nose with a dab of sherbert. I thought the nose was a little sweetish which certainly showed in the mouth, good beer just a bit sweet, bit clacky, nice stuff. A7 A4 T7 P4 Ov14 3.6

Keg at the brewery tap room - London. Pours hazy yellow, highly effervescent, with a moderate, creamy white head. Sweet, doughy malt nose, some lemon, touches of pepper. Medium sweet flavor with mild bitter hay, white sugar, some lightly dried grass, yeasty dry dough, light tangy melon and pineapple. Medium bodied with fine, massaging carbonation. Sweet finish, lightly warming, with further sugary dough, light tangy melon, a bit of lemon rind. Tasty. Could use a bit more carbonation, which would cut into the sweetness somewhat. The beer sits a bit heavy on the palate and livelier carbonation would help there. Could use more assertive bitterness as well to balance out the sugary notes. Still, really tasty and easy to drink. Could be outstanding with a few tweaks.
