In his youth Harvie the Mouse was quite a rocker! He was the artist behind the sax solo on Baker Street, had a short stint with Adam and the Ants in the 80s and was the inspiration for the 1996 hit single "Neighbourhood" by Space. This pale, hoppy beer has a 'grassy' aroma and flavour...

Cask at The Argyll Hotel, Ullapool. It pours straw yellow, with a medium white head. The nose is tropical fruit, orange squash and white bread. The taste is zesty citrus, lemon, tangerine peel, light soap, peppery hop and grass, with a bitter, slightly citric finish. Light body and soft carbonation. Solid session ale.

Hamilton Hall Spoons. Cloudy gold beer. Residual white head. Light palate, slightly crisp and semi dry. Okay pale malt supports good hops. A little tangy orange - tangerine and a nice peach note. Finishes dry with mild hop bitterness. Refreshing!

Cask at the John Logie Baird (JDW), Hastings. straw coloured with a dense white head; aroma of citrus and grain; clean citrus flavour with a smooth, creamy, grainy body; then a sharp grapefruit finish. Simple but well made.

[Cask at the Monk’s Retreat (JDW), Reading] Pale gold, thin white head. Lots of lemon & grapefruit, a little grassiness, sweet up front with a lingering bitterness. There was something in the finish that I didn’t like, but couldn’t put my finger on - perhaps some cardboard? A little watery, but generally OK, just not as good as I was expecting. One of those beers where you like the first sip & then enjoy it less and less the more you drink.

Cask-conditioned at the Knights Templar, Bristol 16/10/2011. Golden with a slight white head. Light, citrus hop and sweetish malt aroma. Sweetish flavour of tangerines and stone fruits with a dryish finish. Good.

Cask handpull at Market Porter, Borough with MagicDave. What a surprise a pale gold beer with a thin white head from Harviestoun. Bit thin in mouth, some stinging hop, bit of butter. Bit of tea. Not great.

Cask conditioned at The Castle, Furnival St., London
Blond color. The aroma is very nice, mild, quite earthy and a bit flowery, honey too; good English hops, persistent. Some malt flavor and a good bitterness, moderately sweet, well balanced. In the final there is something like glue, interesting, with quality hops traces. Very good.

Cask @ Akkurat. Very light yellow colour. No head. Almost no aroma at all. Some mild tones of yeast and bread, that´s all. Nice flavor of yeast and orange. Fruity. And with a good bitterness in the after taste. Smooth and well balanced.
