A speciality old ale that speaks for itself. Pronounced chocolate flavours and a pleasant orange addition combine perfectly in this delightfully different offering.

Cask at Wandsworth Beer Festival, March 2012. It pours deep amber-brown, with a decent white head. The nose is Terry’s chocolate orange, caramel, toffee and chocolate digestive biscuits. The taste is caramel, chocolate, charcoal, roasted malt, leather, wood, ash and orange Jaffa cake, with a dry finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. Not nearly as sweet and sickening on the taste as you might expect. Good balance. I liked it a lot.

@Royal Oak, Twerton. Medium brown. The aroma is like a chocolate-orange candy from the drug store. Mix of Hershey’s syrup and fake orange. Bitter towards the finish. Do not like. Dreadful stuff.

Cask at the Old Fountain BF. Dry-hopped version. Clear, dark amber-brown pour with a creamy, tan head. Chocolate malt aroma with light roast. Semi-sweet flavor with a strong cocoa powder character. Some chocolate syrup. Light roast. Don’t get much fruit. Light to medium in body with fine carbonation. Chocolate syrup and dark malts on the finish, drying and mildly chalky, with some faint, earthy bitters. Really good.

Cask at the Wenlock on 23 October 2010. Copper-brown with off-white head of foam. "Cadbury’s" chocolate taste, and orange zestiness with a pleasant malt overtone. Easy drinking for its strength.

Brown coloured body with a mild tan head. Aroma of light nuts, caramel, coffee, chocolate and a touch of hops. Medium-bodied; Nice nutty flavours with a good chocolate and a very light orange flavour throughout. Aftertaste shows only mild complexity with some of the flavours and more of a nuttiness than expected. Overall, a nice beer, and something different than bitters, but still not amazing. I sampled this beer on cask at Wenlock Arms on 13-December-2008 in London, England.
