Cask at IndyManBeerCon, 2012. It pours opaque black, with a medium tan head. The nose is roasted malt, spice, plum, raisin, currant, treacle, light tanginess, toast and saltiness. The taste is roasted malt, dark chocolate, cherry, raisin, plum, sour fruitiness, varnish, toast, subtle balsamic vinegar, saltiness, spice and umami aspect, with a bitter-sweet finish. Full body and soft carbonation. Smooth, complex and well-balanced.

Bottle shared at The Kernel during Marioโ€™s leaving time. Pours black with a creamy, beige head. Light tangy dark malt nose with smoke and charcoal highlights. Medium to big sweet flavor with notes of ash, smoke, tobacco, some dark chocolate, grass and earth. Some dark fruits and light licorice, too. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Mild warming finish with sticky dark sugar, charred malts, tar, coal, light tang, burnt grass, mild hard alcohol. Dries out nicely in the finish. Good stuff.

750ml bottle. Darkest brown with small creamy beige head. Complex aroma with notes of coffee, chocolate, roast. Taste has a wide range of typical I-Stout notes too: sweet dark fruit, coffee, dark chocolate, roast, even a hint of smoke, also vanilla. A really good one, though slightly too light to be one of the best ones.

Cask, 8.2% at Borefts 2011. Fruity and herbal aroma. Almost black colour, seems cloudy. The flavour starts off fruity, turning rather roasted. Good fruity aroma hop, almost teaish. Solid alcohol presence.
