This is a great example of a low hopped full malt American Barleywine that we rested for a short time in a mix of Bourbon and Whisky barrels. Classic Barley Sugar flavours and a heavy sweet mouthfeel lead on to lingering bourbon and coconut. Balanced and Decadent.

Can. Light haze on this reddish amber beer, small bubbly pale tan head. Light palate, a tad thin for the style, decent fine carbonation. Sweetish malts, a nice light caramel cream with a touch of tangy toffee. Rich bourbon soaked ripe fruits and whiskey infused marmalade. Bourbo barrel induced coconut. Modest spice. Light finish. The mouthfeel could be smoother but this is a tasty and rich ba barleywine. Light finish. So nearly great.

30/XI/19 - sample @ Day 2 of Billies Craft Beer Festival 2019, BB: n/a - (2019-2065) Thanks to all for sharing today’s beers!
Aroma: lovely, bourbon, caramel, dried fruits, vanilla, very nice, soft oxidation. MF: ok carbon, medium to full body. Taste: sweet and sugary start, lots of caramel, nice oxidation, vanilla? Aftertaste: little bitter, malty, grains, sugary, some honey, nice stuff, lots of alcohol. Lovely barley wine. I really love decent barley wines, they are a rarity. This one is great! One of the best beers of the festival for me! Bite me.

Keg at Fierce. It pours clear dark amber to brown with small beige to tan. The aroma is sweet, sticky, perfumed, vanilla, toasted coconut, toffee, brown bread, fruit cake, icing sugar, toffee and bourbon biscuits. The taste is dry, oily, bitter - sweet, toffee, date, earthy, toothy, tannin, umami, fudge, fruit cake, boozy heat, toothy, toasty action, liquorice, fruit cake and some boozy warmth with a drying finish. Fulsome body and fine carbonation. Moreish. Quaffable.
