With those ingredients and that label I expected it to be a sweet tart holiday ale. Instead it's on the dry side tart and spicy. I pick up the cranberry and cinnamon immediately with a little nutmeg in the background but not much ginger.

Keg at Bazils, 11.14.22. Hazy pinkorange, thin white head, good retention. Aroma of cinnamon, nutmeg, apple. Taste is tart stone fruit, nutmeg. Slick, lingering spice, strong tartness. Weird. Decent.

Draught, Tip Tap Room, 3/31/22. Deep, copper-bronze with a pinkish tint and a touch of magenta. Beige-yellow-tinted head fades immediately to nothing. Light-to-moderate haze. Nose is nutmeg and light cranberry acidity with good ginger notes as well, and low cinnamon, thankfully. Not sweet, nor alcoholic or overly acidic, but definitely spicy. In the mouth the spices are front and center, though not obnoxious (though definitely forward) and the big, syrupy, sugary sweetness I'm expecting never comes. Shockingly dry and attenuated, perhaps even too much so? It's close, and it does soften a bit with warming. It's funny, the spicing is like just on the brink of being too much, but not quite. It's oddly compelling.

Fairly hazy deep dark copper and brighter orange coloured body with a nice light glow and a thin, single centimetre tall off-white head that is noticeable for a while, but ends up fading to a thin layer after a minute or so. Aroma of crazy soured and bretty, funky yeast notes with a lot of lighter spice components noticeable with some cardamom, canella, squash, allspice, coriander seed and a lot of curacao that also adds to the sweetness and of course the citrus aspect. Light to Medium-bodied; Super funky, bretty, lactobilly and soured notes show at first with a lot of sour and dry, herbal components, but the spices and especially the spontaneous fermented notes dominate here with a lot of character, depth and range along with an enjoyable complexity at the end. Aftertaste shows a good balance of soured, funky bretty yeast notes coupled with the relative strength of the spice notes with a good malt body in between and a touch of sweetness at the very end, but well thought out, balanced and flavourful, while providing a good layer of complexity at the end. I sampled this 33 cL can, purchased from Knightly Spirits in Orlando (Orange Blossom Trail), Florida on 30-December-2020 for US$3,32 canned on 22-October-2020 with the tagline 'Seasick' and sampled at my house here in Washington on 15-February-2022.

18 December 2021. 6th Anniversary and Christmas Beer Evening with the lovely Anke!

Can from Deconinck. Hazy orange, thinning, white head. Aroma of cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, plum, gooseberry, kiwi, yoghurt, biscuit. Taste has sour plum, cranberry & blueberry in a biscuity malt body adorned with spicy accents of nutmeg, cinnamon & soft ginger. Low hoppy finish, bit peppery at that, spicy ginger mixing well with sour fruit. Medium body, slick texture, average carbonation. Funny combination but it works surprisingly well.

14/I/22 - 12Fl. Oz. can from Bierhalle Deconinck (Vichte), shared @ home, BB: n/a (2022-70)

Pretty clear orange beer, small creamy irregular off-white head, little stable, bit adhesive, leaving some lacing in the glass. Aroma: very spicy, lots and lots of cinnamon, lactobacillus, sourish, some cloves, dusty, dried ginger powder. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: very acidic and dry start, lots of cinnamon, bitter touch, some tannins, lovely acidity, bit of nutmeg, very nice stuff!

12oz can. Poured a very light tart orange color with a small pink hue to it. Fizzy off-white head. Aroma was light tart cherries, ginger, with some mild cinnamon. Flavor was nice ginger, cranberries. Pleasant tartness.

Prairie Seasick Crocodile Sour Cranberry ale with nutmeg, cinnamon and nutmeg 6.3% Salmon pink beer with just a wisp of Pam and a big festive Christmasy aroma. Medium to light bodied and very sour/tart cranberry with the spices coming through in a gingerbread like finish. This feels like a Christmas beer for a summery place like Australia, California or Florida. Really nice take on the style.

Sour winter warmer. I feel like an oud bruin would make a better match for the spicing. As is, you get bright citric-berry tartness clashing with a shitload of cinnamon and nutmeg. Doesn’t work. Nice nose, though.
