Our very popular sour beer. We alternate the recipe on every batch with seasonal fruits and American hops. These additions give a creamy and tropical flavour to the brew. Very refreshing and tart!

Well not too excited about Vibrant Forest so far but I am still hunting new sour beers especially when the price point is not to prohibitive. So seeing a new sour for at Craft & Draft, I got a 150 ml. pour. First order in Flemish then in English since my dialect is not always understandable in these parts. Hazy paler apple golden with small white head. I got a not particularly great or exciting simple kettle sour, nose is mellow lacto, vague yoghurt & pour green apple sour,.. Not much difference elsewhere, bit weak thinner lacto green apple, almost bit watery, weak bodied. It does the trick and you can drink it but this is a lesser kettle sour, just a bit too weak and simple with not the most exciting profile. As for the Belgian part, it wasn’t listed on the board when I got it, seeing it now, nothing Belgian about this kettle sour. I suppose they are trying to the ride the lambiek hype train a little bit by association, no classical Belgian styles fit the bill here and there is no taste or production logic to add the Belgian moniker so bit sour marketing here.

Keg @ Ramble + Rose, Hebden Bridge. Clouded yellow with a small head. Alongside a sourness, it is quite hoppy too, proving to be a good mix for this one.

Keg Tap at the Rake, Borough, as Zuur. Light creamy yellow, cloudy with a film of white head. Light aroma of lemon, gardenia, coconut, modest funk. The taste is wonderfully engaging: a gentle tartness blends with but doesn’t quite obscure the tropical fruit sweetness. Refreshing finish buoyed up by the generous carbonation. Lemon juice and kumquat in the aftertaste. I approve.
