This naturally hazy, tropical pale ale is dry hopped with Chinook and Columbus hops and flavoured with pineapple and coconut pulp to give our take on Pina Colada. No umbrella needed. Unfined and unfiltered.

330ml can. Hazy pale straw colour with a small white head dissipating fairly quickly. Aroma: coconut (artificial?), pineapple juice, light hop note. Taste: coconut flavour does seem a bit artificial, pineapple juice, quite sweet with some light bitter hoppy notes. Thin-medium body, average carbonation. Ok but it's feeling a little thin and possibly artificial, could be better as it sounds like it's much better on cask.

Cask at Craft Beer Co, Islington, London. A hazy golden/amber coloured pour with a medium white head on top. Sweet, tropical fruit, pineapple, coconut on the nose. Tastes the same, quite sweet, tropical fruit, pineapple, coconut. Pleasant tropical fruit juice if a little thin.

Can at home. It pours hazy yellow with a decent white head. The sweet, fragrant, big tropical vibe, coconut milk, pineapple, sun lotion and pink colada. The taste is soft, sweetish, tropical vibe, icing sugar, tinned pineapple, tangy fruit, coconut, something a bit artificial, sun lotion, pithy citrus, straw and chalk with a dry finish. Light - medium body and fine carbonation. I do like the flavour combo akin to Pina Colada, but it comes across a bit artificial.

330 ml can, from Ales By Mail. ABV is 4.5%. Slightly hazy pale golden colour, moderate white head. Aroma of pineapple, coconut, lemongrass and dill. The flavour is slightly dry, again with notes of coconut and pineapple, hints of lemongrass and dill, some bittering hops.

Can at home. Pours hazy golden with a small white head. Aromas of tropical fruit & pineapple & coconut. Taste is the same, juicy & sweet. The fruity flavours come through as a wee bit synthetic. Medium body. A refreshing novelty pale ale, quite enjoyed it

Cask @ Shrewsbury Beer Festival 2017. Pours a misty gold, small white head. Aroma is straight-up Malibu. Tastes just like a malibu-infused pale ale, lots of prominent exotics & coconut. I quite like Malibu so I liked it more than the novelty it was perceived as here.

19th July 2017: cask at the CAMRA Shrewsbury Beer Festival. Hazy golden pour, wispy white head. Tropical fruit esters in the nose, tropical fruit flavours in the taste: didn’t pick up any coconuts though. Actually I quite liked it.
