dark amber pour, beige head. Aroma of sweet malts, nuts, and some maple. Flavor is nutty, slightly boozy, with a sweet malt finish. This was too much sweetness thought, and i wasnt able to finish the bottle.

Hazy light amber. Mild, crackery amber ale aroma. Smokey, crackery character. A bit thin without much malt development. Ok, because of the smoke.

Bouteille 500ml. Arôme de sirop d’érable, de caramel. Goût de sirop d’érable plutôt présent, mais agréable. Bière assez sucrée mais délicieuse. L’étiquette était différent, dessin du visage de Suzanne Marceau.

Mine has a different front with a drawing of Suzanne. Very hazy, cloudy beautiful deep amber coloured body with a dazzle of ruby and copper colours with a thinnish tan head - looks a touch like maple syrup itself. Aroma of some sweetness, nuts, malt, yeast, figs and raisins - no real syrup to speak of. Medium to Full-bodied; Chewy maltiness in the taste with a lot of nuts, some light spices and a ton of pit fruits noticeable. Aftertaste has some bitterness, a little spiciness of pumpkin pie spice, nutmeg and allspice and some sweetness at the tail end. Overall, a potent and well flavoured amber, but the syrup and any sweetness were lacking compared to the herb/spice flavours. I sampled this 50 cL bottle purchased from Marche Des Saveurs in Montreal, Quebec, Canada on 04-December-2010 for CA$5.25 sampled at home in Washington on 07-January-2011.

Purchased at the Marché Omni. Pours a clean amber-copper colour with a big creamy off-white head that stays a long time and creates thick lace. Carbonation looks almost dead, with a few tiny bubbles from time to time. The nose is very grainy with caramel and toffee that makes this one very sweet smelling. Pretty smooth and mildly creamy mouthfeel. Taste of grain, just like the aromas and the maple syrup is felt in the finish. Just not as sweet in the flavour. A little bitterness from the hop comes out in the aftertaste. Becomes a little hazy by the end. Decent maple amber beer that is worth trying, but not something I would have a lot of.

Bottle: Poured a deep brown color ale with a nice foamy head with some good retention. Aroma of primary sugar with some weird overcooked vegetable. Taste is also dominated by gross sugar as well as this vegetable notes that didn’t agree with my taste buds. No important malt or hops could be detected. Body was about average with some good carbonation. Another disappointing maple beer that makes me wonders why brewers insist on brewing them.
