A hazed dark amber saison with a thick frothy lacing off white head. In aroma, lots of spices, funk, juniper, light cedar, very nice and complex. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity malt with loads of juniper berries, herbs from the wild, light Brett, light lactic notes, excellent and funky. Bottle at Clandestin, Gatineau.

Dan's Stag. Hotel room tasting. Hazy amber beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is airy and dry, decent fine carbonation. Smooth malts, light creamy sweetness. Fair bit of aromatic wood. Little champagne. Woody orange. Dry smooth finish. Nice, comes together well, pretty drinkable.

Bottle big thanks to Adrian. It pours hazy orange - amber with a small white head. The aroma is earthy, musty, oily, gooseberry fool, wood, vanilla and white grape. The taste is dry, earthy, musty, wood, tannin, lemon sherbet, lime, vinous, some acidity apple skin, pear, tannin and a spice with a drying finish. Medium body and moderate, prickly carbonation. Good fun.

Bottle shared in the hotel in Bristol for Dan's stag. #livin. Pours unclear deep gold with a frothy, white head. The nose has wood, varnish, lemon. Medium sweet flavour with more raw woody character, dried citrus peel, minimal yeast expression, wheat flakes. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Lightly warming finish with further varnish, drying pale wood, ripening lemon. So so. A little raw overall.

Bottle @ Christianssand brygghus. Unclear, slightly foggy golden body with a nice, dense, lacing off-white head. Aroma is fruity with acidic berries and hint of wood. A nice, rather light hint of funk/Brett. Flavor is soft, pale malt, ripe fruit, acidic berries, hint of lemon, some wooden harshness and slightly funky. Fine body and nice aftertaste. A rather refreshing and tasty beer that feels a bit raw and might need a little cellaring to bring out the full potential.

Bottle from trade with Anstei, many thanks! Slightly unclear orange with beige head. Tart, herbal greens with bright lemon flesh, white wine vinegar and green grapes. Beautiful acidity but a little too "green" taste for me.

Bouteille 37.5cl de La Cave à Bières, Yverdon. BB 09/2018.
