WHALES , BRO ! at rampkrot ( via kulminator ) shared by me , with a great gang , who all payed their share . 2005 vintage, magnum bottle, almost no wax left... GUSHER! lost some beer, poured out 20-30 cl, still gushing! damn ! pours hazy yellow, small white foam. smell is too old . very much carbo ( even after gushing the hell out of things ! ) , honey, way to old. not complex ( or good) anymore. almost reminds at a fresh gaverhopke.. prob. not the best beer to age, yet still very, very glad to have tried this !

1.5L magnum courtesy of Kraddel @ Post Toer de Geuze tasting. Vintage 2005, bottle #81, BB 2008.

22/IV/13 - 1.5L bottle from Kulmintor (Antwerpen) @ Rampkrot (Deurne) - BB: 2008, bottle #81 (2013-353) Split cost with Kraddel and others.

GUSHER ALERT! Cloudy yellow beer, big fluffy white head, little stable, non adhesive, yeasty or protein chunks floating around. Aroma: lots of yeast, yoghurt, floral, dairy, hay, some honey, bit funky, saison like. MF: ok carbon, medium to full body. Taste: honey, orange peel, bit spicy, herbal, some alcohol, honey, pretty oxidised, but not bad at all! Aftertaste: alcohol is clearly present, cookie dough, honey, spices, very floral, little bitter, yeasty. I was very surprised at the high drinkability of this aged beer!

Magnum, bottle 81, courtesy of kraddel, thank you! Gusher. Cloudy yellow color, massive white head. Aroma of rising raw bread dough, lemon, honey. Taste is sweet lemon, straw. A shadow of its former self, still very drinkable, but it’s evident it was a good one while young.

2005 Magnum at Chriso’s Pre-GBBF Shindig 2011. It pours cloudy yellow (my pour was from towards the bottom of the bottle), with a thin white head. The nose is quite sweet - caramelised banana, peach and pear, as well as spice and honey. The taste is similarly sweet, lots of sweet over-ripe banana, as well as spice, herb and white sugar, with a massive boozy finish (deep burn). Interesting and I am glad to have tried this, but this blond was a bit over the hill......

Bottle (Magnum from 2005!) at ChrisO’s Pre-GBBF Shindig 2011. Pours clear yellow with a big, white head. Plenty of sweet dough in the aroma, some boozy licks. Flavor is very sweet, some yeast and dough, faint hay bitterness. Medium to full in body with average to lively carbonation. Light warming finish, notes of dough, yeast and candi sugar. Has stood up reasonably well.

2005 Bottle at Chriso’s. Medium blonde color. Soft aroma of lemon and honey. Sweet flavor of an aged tripel, with citrus, honey, biscuits, and a soft body. Nice but maybe better a couple years back.
