Cré Tonnerre, a group of freshwater sailors from southern Belgian Luxembourg met in 2005 at the Délirium Café in Brussels, where the idea was launched: and why not a rum beer to accompany the concerts? The group then turned to a potential partner, the Silly brewery, which already had 11 different beers to its credit. Meetings, talks and sympathy do the rest. Never mind, Cré Tonnerre® now has a professional distribution network and know-how demonstrated over several generations...
Since 2016 brewed at Brasserie de la Rulles.

Pours a slightly hazy golden color topped with average hite head. Fruity and malty aroma, some sweet notes and yeast also present. Taste starts sweet with some very sweet rhum taste - not that pleasant really. Bittery finish. Not bad actually, but... could be much better.

Brežice Beer Fest. Golden body, small white head. Sweet aroma, dusty, vaguely citric, some gum. More or less typical golden Belgian, overcarbonated, sweet, something I noted as strange honey, but might as well be the rum I guess, that’s it. Meh? At least the concept’s cool. :)

’Tarwetripel’ flavoured with rhum, previously made by Mortal’s Beers. Golden blonde colour, moussy, creamy head, fruity aroma with apple, wheat, pineapple, white candi sugar and noticeable rhum presence. Fruity, sweet taste with subtle wheat sourishness, the rhum clearly comes through without becoming too obtrusive, sweet and alcoholic finish. Weird but still quite enjoyable.

Clear golden coloured body with a super frothy, soapy white head about six centimetres tall. Aroma of pale malt, yeast, coriander seed, light black pepper, and a little sweetness form curacao. Medium to Full-bodied; Dense malty flavour with a lot of yeast and honey and a pungent, slightly medicinal flavour and a bitter finish that shows a lot of alcohol. Aftertaste is pungent and showing a mix of alcohol and yeast - with the warmth and bitternss of the alcohol strongest. Overall, a decent beer, but showing too much honey and bitterness and not enough complexity and depth. Not really worth bringing back home, but worth a quick drink if you can find it for a decent price in country. I sampled this 33 cL bottle purchased from Beer Mania in Bruxelles, Belgium on 19-August-2013 for €2,50 sampled at home in Washington on the other side of the pond on 08-November-2013.

33 cl. bottle @ Bier Central. Pale golden with a pretty big white head. Nose is artificial and enjoyable lemon with slight hops, sweet, hint floral, sugar. Taste is artificial but enjoyable lemon, slight hops, floral, quite sweet, white sugar sweetness with a sweetness which I assume is the rum, almost but almost corn sweet with slight hay, zesty, creamy, slight cheap honey and touch spices in the back Fine, easy to drink. No idea what the deal is up with the score up on here, I liked as did the others. Sweetish and tad fake but not without enjoyment.

A lot of carbonation. Fruity beer but where is the rum? Too sweet in my eyes. Watery finish.

(Bottle, Brasserie Lombard, Brussels, 19 Oct 2012) Golden colour with frothy, white head. Malty, fruity nose with notes of bread, grainy malt and dried fruit. Malty, fruity taste with bread, dried fruit, sugar, flowers and a sweet, malty finish with low bitterness and a slightly weird white rum character. More than medium body, fairly sweet. A bit weird, but decent.
