Can from Sainsbury and drunk on a train. Black beer dark brown colour lasting tan head. Vanilla coffee chocolate aroma. More of same in mouth . Like a milk chocolate wafer. Yes good enough never loses it’s way. Fine. A little light in the mouth some bitter fizzyness on the finish. Ok.

Can from Sainsburys, Thetford, Norfolk. Sweet mocha aroma, with some fruit. Dark cola brown. Beige head was somewhat short lived. Bitter, with a sweet and sour edge to it. Coffee, berries, cream, which is a tad sou, charcoal. Medium bodied but on the thin side. A sting of carbonation. Abrupt finish. Enjoyable but perhaps done a disservice by b ring served overly chilled.

Cask-conditioned at Drygate 14/62017. Dark brown in colour, with a decent, beige, head. Big chocolate character, a hint of coffee bean and some toastiness, before a rather boozy finish. Good.

12oz can, looked like it may have leaked a little bit at the seal, but otherwise pours an opaque black with some foamy, tan head. Nose is big with coffee, cola too, molasses, malt. Flavor has some sour/stale coffee, crackers, burnt bread crust, molasses. Dry finish. Quite nice.

Bottle big thanks to Wingman. It pours black with a big foamy tan head. The aroma is rich roasted malt, coffee gourds, chocolate, vanilla latte and earth. The taste is smooth, creamy roasted malts, vanilla, coffee, chocolate, licorice, light umami, earth and light acidity with a dry, rich coffee finish. Medium body and moderate, foamy carbonation. Rather nice and well -rounded. Good one.
