Flaska från Etre Gourmete. Bärnstensfärgad disig vätska med högt smutsvitt skum. Ganska stiltypisk Ambré. Estrig frukt, äppelmos, kryddor, trä, torr eftersmak. Gott

Bottle shared in London - picked up from online. Pours unclear golden-light brown with a frothy, off-white head. Expressive yeast in here, plastic, orange peel, grassy bitterness. Medium bodied with lively carbonation. Strongly bitter finish, a bit more plastic, burnt carpet. Quite poor overall.

Poured from a 750 ml bottle. Aroma is malt forward with lots of toasted bread, caramels and toffee notes. Hints of chocolate and nuts. Light phenolic, herbal, peppery notes with hints of over ripe fruit esters. Pours a auburn, brown with a very large, thick, pillowy, white head that recedes steadily to a small film that lingers on the edges. Flavor is somewhat sweet with light acidity and moderately strong malt notes. Lots of toasted bread, caramel and toffee with hints of nuts and chocolate. Rather storing, astringent bitterness. Light alcohol notes. Fairly herbal and phenolic with woody, peppery notes along with some lighter floral character. Hints of fruity esters. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a decent beer but it's too bitter and a bit astringent. The herbal and phenolic notes are a bit strong as well.

Bottle. Color: Hazy brownish amber, large frothy off-white head. The foam want to come out of the bottle immediately after opening, but that's no surprise anymore at the beers of this brewery... Aroma: Malty, spicy. Taste: Malty, over moderate sweet, subtle notes of cocoa, quite spicy. Some orange peel. Hints of tobacco. Dry mouthfeel. Moderate bitterness. Long lasting bittery and malty finish. Typical Fantôme. Not that spectacular, but surely likeable. Nice one.

75cl bottle from Etre Gourmet web shop. F: huge, egg-white, long lasting. C: dark amber, hazy. A: malty, bit chocolate, mellow fruity, yeasty, bit toffee. T: medium malty base, quite messy chocolate, yeasty, bit rubbery, bit herbal, dry on the palate, higher carbonation, cocoa and Saison is not the best idea :) yet enjoyed.

Bottle. Etre, probably. Faint haze on a pale copper colour. Thick and noisy, lasting, pale beige head. Nose has cough medicine. Sticking plaster. Trace of cocoa powder. Missus reckons “it smells of poo, mixed with tar and cardboard”. A bit harsh, maybe. Taste is dry and light bitter. Light body coupled with really lively carbonation. Light bitter finish. Not great. And I bought two...

Bottle split at L6 tasting, cheers, 09/10/19. Murky amber with a well presented egg shell white covering. Nose is dusty fruits, light pipe tobacco, earthy, wooded tones. Taste comprises cocoa sprinkle, fruit loaf, dusty tones, light medicinal strokes, straw. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Passable number … a little overly medicinal for my liking.

1/II/20 - 75cl bottle from Geers (Oostakker), shared @ nieuwjaarsreceptie Gentse Biervereniging, BB: n/a (2020-87)

Little cloudy amber orange beer, big fizzy aery irregular head, unstable, falls down quickly. Aroma: lots of herbs, sage, rosemary and thyme, like the song… What’s up with all this thyme in the Fantôme beers lately? MF: very lively carbon, medium body. Taste: weird, very herbal, thyme, soapy, rubbery, spicy, bit weird. Aftertaste: bitter, funky, bit rubbery, weird, interesting, nog very good though…
