Tap at Koelschip. Hazy light amber with small off white head. Strong old yeasty bouillon, funk, hay, sweet malts, soft caramel, dried apricot, canned peach. Medium sweet and sour, light bitter. Medium bodied. Smells a bit too much like soup but tastes quite nice.

375 ml bottle into tulip glass, best before 6/23/2026. Pours slightly hazy/cloudy golden orange color with a 1-2 foamy off white head with decent retention, that reduces to a minimal spotty lace cap that lingers. Some clinging bubbles on the glass, with minimal lacing. Good appearance. Aromas of big tart/sour lemon, lime, carrots, green apple, white wine, hay, straw, grass, pepper, oak, musty funk, honey, wheat, and cracker; with lighter notes of vanilla, leather, white vinegar, and yeast/oak earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity/funky/acidic yeast, carrots, oak, and pale malt notes; with great strength. Taste big tart/sour lemon, lime, carrots, green apple, white wine, hay, straw, grass, pepper, oak, musty funk, honey, wheat, and cracker; with lighter notes of vanilla, leather, white vinegar, and yeast/oak earthiness. Moderate lactic tart/sourness and yeast/oak spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of tart/sour lemon, lime, carrots, green apple, white wine, hay, straw, grass, pepper, oak, musty funk, honey, wheat, cracker, light leather/vinegar, and yeast/oak earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/funky/acidic yeast, carrots, oak, and pale malt flavors; with a great malt/tart/spiciness balance; and zero puckering/astringent flavors after the finish. Moderate increasing dryness from tart/sour/spiciness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately crisp, and bready/grainy/acidic/tannic balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol for 7.7%. Overall this is a great vegetable lambic style. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/funky/acidic yeast, carrots, oak, and pale malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, and easy to drink with the modestly lactic/tannic/drying finish. Nice well rounded Brett/Lacto complexity, oak presence, and malt backbone. Classic lambic flavors with the addition of earthy tasting carrot notes that aren't overdone. Not overly lactic with plenty of Brett funk. A very enjoyable offering, and spot on style example.

Bottle - Funky and perfumy. Cloudy gold with almost no head. Lots of lambic funk with lots of perfumy notes. Very perfumy, but not sure I would get the carrot if I didn’t know.

375mL bottle, pours a hazy orange with almost no head. Aroma is very strange, with lots of carrot, vegetal notes in general and subdued funk. Flavour is very dry, with lots of dry carrot skins upfront, followed by light funk, a touch of sweetness and a herbal character. For something that sounds like it'll be a disaster, this isn't bad. Nothing complex or overly pleasing, but it's intriguing.

Cloudy and a bit dull. It’s quite tart on the nose, with earthy carrot notes. On the palate, Has a nice lactic tartness, again a little earthy, the carrot showing through a touch. It’s not that bad, actually, worried as I was.

Draught at BrewDog Sodermalm, 11/29/16.
Light golden with a bit of darker melon flesh/carrot skin color to it. Small, beige head rapidly dissipating. Good clarity.
The nose shows carrot, but it’s a soft, lightly sweet, juicy character instead of a more vegetal, earthy one. Against the Spontan base beer, I think this works really nicely, as it plays a good contrast to the light sourness and earthy, musty notes of that. Not a whole lot of sour ale character, but bits and pieces of lactic acid and very minor brett. No alcohol or flaw.
In the mouth it’s similar, with juicy carrot on the finish following a lightly tart, fairly malty but mostly well-attenuated body with light but ample carbonation. Some earthiness, even a touch of caramel and honey, with more carrot goodness and hints of lactic acid on the end. I quite enjoyed it, especially given how authentic the carrot comes across (as opposed to say, SpontanWatermelon....).

On tap. Pours a dark hazy copper with not head. Aromas and flavors of wet dank root cellar, wood, and biscuity malts. A bad idea. Should not be.
