22 oz bottle courtesy of tjthresh, 3rd bottle sampled at the 1/28 Houston tasting. Pour is a slightly hazy straw yellow-ruby with a quickly disappearing dirty white head. Aroma of big, syrupy sweet caramel malt and bright hoppiness. Taste is big, grainy, boozy with pine hop. A bunch of honey sweetness as well. Taste on this was quite hot, the aroma was really the highlight of this beer.

Bottle at Toms Ultimate Glasgow Tasting : Poured an amber with a jello white head that drifts as you move the glass. The aroma is strong with hops and sweetness. The taste is bitter with hops and it definetly slaps your sences.

Bottled. An amber beer with a lazing orange head. The aroma is sweet malty with strong notes of hops giving it notes of grapefruit. The flavor is sweet malty with strong notes of hops lending it notes of grass and grapefruit. The alcohol is felt, and leaves a good burn.

Another "preview" rating from a tasting at my homebrew club, while I keep my bottle a little longer. A bit of a hazy brown, with just a thin ring of foam from the bottle. Smell is mostly alcohol, with a bit of whiskey malt thrown in. Quite a mix of the ol’ 3F hop menu, not just PNW’s, but methinks some German bitter-uppers, too. Malt looks and tastes heavy, but the overall texture is somewhat lighter.

Courtesy of Quake1028. Pours a copper hue with gold edges and lasting off white head. The aroma is pretty darn big. I can smell it from two feet away. Lots of grapefruit hops mixed with sweet caramelization. The taste begins with both grapefruit hop bitterness and tasty mild malt sweetness. Then I get a sweeter orange citrus note for a while until it swings back to more bitter grapefruit and more malty sweetness. Enjoyable product.

75 cL bottle, thanks to Storm. Pours hazy orange with a little white lacing head. Aroma is quite grapefruity and dry. Flavour is quite hoppy dry with a slight malt base. Very minor malty sweetness. Ends in a fruity note. But overall way too dry and somewhat without balance to be fantastic.

(Bottle 65 cl) Courtesy of boboski. Hazy, pale amber golden with a small, off-white head. Fat, citrusy hop nose. Quite full-bodied with lightly sweet caramel and then this distinct, overpowering, fat and citrusy hoppiness that leaves a solid bitterness. Dry as a bone and not the most balanced example of a hop bomb (well, they rarely are...). 280907

Golden-amber colour. Chewy, limey, kumquaty nose with lots of caramel...like the label an amalgam of Three Floyds’ past. Big and chewy, with lots of hops, lots of malt and not a whole lot of cohesive. The stuff is there, but that’s all it is, like a five minute stew.

Bottle, post mid pro. Pour is a coppery amber with just a little bit of a head that quickly turns into thin haze on the top of the liquid and some lacing on the sides of the glass. Aromas are heavenly: grapefruit, pineapple, pine resins, a bit of a caramel malt presence, etc. Flavor is very hop heavy, but not insanely overdone and I’m a little stumped at why this isn’t rated higher. Pine and pinapple come together with a bit of a citrus peel and ginger bite with some sweet malt as a support structure. The hops is about perfect for me... a little more and I’d be overwhelmed, and a little less and I’d be disappointed with a \"one time run\" anniversary celebration. Even a little later I can still feel a bit of hops stinging the inside of my mouth.
*** So I had to come back and update the story from the other night, deducting a couple of points. This silly rascal is so heavily hopped that it left a lot of stinging in the mouth... either that or there was some wierd allergic reaction that has only occurred once in my life. I really liked the flavor and all, but please don’t do physical damage.
