Blend of young & old lambic with three varieties of hand-picked quince from local farmers.
Ever since the folks at Boerenerf first began experimenting with quince, they found the intense flavours and aroma to be very complementary to lambic.
The fruit is pressed and spontaneously fermented in lambic barrels.
This aromatic blend is beautiful in its complex and intense character. A unique experience.
Fermented, aged & bottled on the farm.

750mL bottle, pours a cloudy golden yellow with a small white head. Aroma has pungent quince, barnyard funk, some leather, and fuzzy quince skins. Flavour has plenty of tart quince, big matcha green tea, with moderate-to-high acidity, and light-to-moderate barnyard funk. Pungent quince and green tea funk on the finish. Unique and wonderfully blended. Excellent.

750ml @ SF shared with almost full gang (missing two biggest guys only).
Aroma: a lot of fruit, smells literally like amd green tea / matcha 😲 Even having those creamy notes from it.
Taste: along the same lines, a lot of fruit, with noticeable matcha notes and acidity.
Overall: very interesting.

Hazy, thin head. Ok, that's a really nice aroma, lots of quince, light wood, maybe some floral honey. Tart, a little lactic, with a fairly big quince note, some honey action. Finishes a little bit sharp.

Poured from 750mL bottle (lot 2022/2023-12). Hazed yellow gold with small white head. Tons of quince upfront, light funk, tea like quality. Slow sipper.

750mL bottle. Pours a hazy blonde with a white head. A very pronounced quince character on the nose; nice funk underneath, and quite floral, but very much dominated by the quince. Flavour is also very quince-forward, lots of citric tartness, acidity, with a nice layer of funk. Very nice.

Quince! It’s all over this beer, obviously. Clear golden with a fizzy white head. A bit sour, some barnyard, old dry wood, fruit, sparkly citrus. Finish has nice acidity without overpowering. No slouching here- lovely.

Bottle at CBJ tasting, thanks to Fergus. A light haze on this pale gold beer, small white head. Airy palate, smooth and semi dry, decent fine carbonation. A bit of a papery vibe. Good quince really saves this one. Good old tart English quince, unsugared here. Light finish. Not acid, not acetic but tartly quince. My kinda sour!
