This version of Eight Ball has the pluses of a 7.5% abv and a 42 oz bottle. The glaring negative is the plastic bottle. Otherwise this is one of my favorite beer-tasting malt liquors. Corn on the front end, sorta sweet, grainy, a dense feeling and potent befitting the higher alcohol content. Plenty of bang for the buck if you appreciate that sort of thing. Here’s some for the brothers who couldn’t be here with us.

Big can (naturally) shared at Chris and Ruth Pre-GBBF 2017 tasting - London. Cheers! Pours clear yellow with a creamy, white head. The nose is all simple white bread and cereal, some hay. Medium sweet flavour with sugary white bread, frosting. Medium to full bodied with average carbonation. Sweet finish, lightly warming, more cereal. Easygoing malt liquor.

24 oz can all to myself on 8th March 2019 while baby sitting in California. Tramp Juice at it's finest. Golden pour, clean and clear, white fading crown on top. Aroma of hangovers to come, with a grainy/malty lead. Fairly sweet tasting with malty molasses to the fore. Struggled to finish the can to be honest, don't let the beer warm too much; trust me on this.

In Guam, this comes in a 42 oz plastic, resealable bottle. So, basically it comes in it's own growler. The liquid inside is quite bad. Quite. Clear orange golden with a white head. Lots of grain and malt. A good bit of bad. Sweet. Lightly boozy. Finish is biscuity and sweet booze. Full bodied. I'm really not sure how anyone drinks this with any regularity.

Can split at Chris & Ruths pre GBBF Shin Dig, cheers for all the shares, 05/08/17. Clear golden with a well appointed off white covering. Nose is pale malts, grains, toasted bread, corn, faded caramel, paper. Taste comprises sweet malts, grains, grass, toasted corn, cereals, boozey licks, sweet tang. Medium + body, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a rising boost. Good piss carton.

42oz classy plastic bottle pours with a clear gold body that supports a pretty decent near white head of foam. The aroma offers up boozy creamed corn, table sugar and honey dipped pear and apple and then a mild sense of chemicals. The taste delivers smooth moderately sweet creamed corn and then moving quickly into sharp booze notes. To midway this dips deeper into sweetness as the pear and apple fruity esters come to the surface. Into the finish an actual helpful note of cracker maltiness is noticed but this is all too brief. Decent malt liquor. Not really a good beer.

Can at C&R Pre-GBBF Tasting 2017. It pours clear yellow with a thick, foamy white head. The aroma is soft, sweet, cheap white bread, candy, sugar, cornbread and paper. The taste is crisp, dry, bitter - sweet, sugary, cheap white bread, corn, McDonald's apple pie, grain and lemonade. Light - medium and moderate, foamy carbonation. Boosty alcohol throughout. I have had worse for the style anyhow. Fair.

The great pre GBBF bottleshare at ChrisO’s. Big can. Deep gold beer, small white head. Palate is smooth and semi dry, modest fine carbonation. Dry creamy malts. Banana esters, Mild spice. Smooth semi dry finish. Pretty smooth for the style.
