Doesn’t quite punch its weight as a 10.4 IIPA from FM, but not a bad double. Aroma is pretty mild with malt, soap and a touch of citrus. Appearance is solid with a dense white head and a thick amber orange body. There are reasonably astringent grapefruit rind hops, earthy and pine elements and rich caramel malt playing well together. Enjoyable, rich, and packing some bite, but at this elevation, it would have to have more to squeeze more points out of me

Can from the lcbo. Dark amber, big almost beige head. Lots of biscuity malts, sweet bread, boozy, sherry notes. Sticky, resinous pine notes, hints of candied citrus peel. Very sweet, and boozy over the top beer. Pretty messy if you as me. This is a cross between a Barley wine and a double ipa, leaning towards Barley wine. Medium bitterness, super sweet, malty, slightly nutty finish with alot of resinous pine. Not great, but leaps and bounds above the previous incarnation.

Can: Poured a deep amber color ale with a dark dirty white foamy head with medium retention and light lacing. Aroma of deep caramelized malt notes with some citrusy and earthy hops notes. Taste is a mix of overly sweet caramelized malt with huge bitter hops notes which are not well balanced against the other flavours and a gross sweet finish. Body is full with medium carbonation. Huge ugly mess with limited carbonation.

Draft glass @ Billie’s Bier Kafétaria. Dark amber orange, HUGE tanned head. Nose is weird grainy orange peel, dark bred, weird bitter bread, fruits. Taste is weird strawberry hop, bread grainy & bitter, sweetish strawberry, overly thick, approaching boozy, weird heavy bready pine. Strange, not too drinkable, not really my thing.

Pours darker amber, ok white head. Smell is rich, thick malts , intense hops, some biscuit maltyness. Taste is sweet, bit candy like fruit touches, intense hops , grassy and green, fruity. Very rich malty base, biscuits and caramel. Very intense. Very decent mf and carbo. Like this one !

473mL can, sent from wilco (thanks a lot, Mike), pours a bright opaque amber with a large, lingering, foamy beige head. Aroma brings out lots of fresh piney and resinous hops upfront, with a touch of spicy earthy notes and dry bready malt. Flavour is loaded with resinous hops, followed by ample sweet caramel malts and some alcohol. Big and boozy, yet well-rounded and in proportion. Creamy, sticky palate that somehow works. Not my usual kind of IIPA, but it sure is nice.
