Malziger, leicht süßer Antrunk mit milden Kaffeenoten. Für ein Imperial Stout sehr süffig, dennoch vollmundig, die Kaffeenoten steigern sich. Leichte Bourbonnoten, passend. Weich schokoladig, geringe Bitterkeit. Sehr gut! 11/12/11/12/8/11

Aroma has moderately strong dark chocolate notes with some lighter roast and coffee character. Light oak and medium light bourbon notes. Faint vanilla. Medium light plum and prune with faint licorice. Pours dark brown to black with some lighter dark brown highlights on the edges. Moderate sized, fairly thick mocha head with average retention that really lingers on the edges. Medium light lacing with medium long legs. Flavor has a medium light roast character with moderate chocolate notes. Light sweetness with medium light vanilla and bourbon and light oak. Some light fruitiness that balances nicely with faint ash and tobacco. Medium light bitterness and light alcohol spice. Fruit notes are plum and prune. Mouthfeel is medium full bodied and slightly creamy with medium carbonation. Low astringency and light to medium light alcohol warmth. Overall a pretty enjoyable beer. A bit of residual sweetness to balance out the roast and alcohol spice. Nice chocolate, bourbon and vanilla notes. Nice mouthfeel and not too big of a beer.

750mL bottle, sent from Marheb (thanks a lot, Martin), pours black with a medium tan head. Nose is very milky, with lactose, bourbon, vanilla and some sweetness. Flavour is similar, with bourbon, vanilla, lactose, and sweet cocoa. Full-bodied, with light bourbon accentuating the mouthfeel. Very full and decadent. Great stuff.

This one is a total bourbon bomb. Pours pitch black withmocha head and great lacing. Tough to detect the beers qualities aside from the barrel but i cam sense some booze, sweet malt. Finishes sweet with some bitter dark chocolate. Tap at Gainsbourg.

Bottle: Poured a deep black color stout with a large dark brown foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of black chocolates notes with light dry coffee notes with some light vanilla and bourbon notes. Taste is also dominated by nice black chocolate notes with limited bitterness and some light vanilla and bourbon notes with a dry finish with notes of roasted malt and coffee. Body is above average with nice creamy texture and no apparent alcohol. Solid rendition of the style with good balance between the different flavours. Bourbon notes could have been a bit more pronounced but very enjoyable nonetheless.

Olfactif: Arômes puissants de bourbon, de cerises noires, de mélasse et de café. La arômes ressortent bien et sont assez représentatifs du style. Visuel: Noire, opaque, belle mousse brune, dense, crémeuse, qui tient bien et qui reste longtemps. La dentelle elle, ne tient pas. Gustatif: Légère effervescence en attaque; on sent bien les notes de café compléter la finale houblonnée. Les arômes perçus en olfactif tardent à se transformer en saveurs. Les notes de café sont bien là, mais, le bourbon, les cerises et la mélasse sont absents. Manque légèrement de rondeur en bouche. La sensation de chaleur n’y est pas. L’alcool est trop discret à mon goût. Par contre, on y dénote un bon équilibre malt / houblon. La finale est sèche et dure très longtemps en bouche. Pas mauvaise mais trop d’éléments m’ont déçu pour la qualifier d’excellente.
