Thanks to Sergiy for spotting this one for me! Hazy mid-amber sort of colour, with medium head. Typical gueuze. Lots of leather, super dry, oaky, wheaty, lemony, and each of these is pretty powerful as well. Assertive, leaning towards tartness, great bugs. Nice, solid gueuze.

Cloudy gold with a lovely white frothy head. Autumn leaves, basement, tart oak, leather, vinous notes, lemon, wood, old hop. Bone dry. Medium sour. Light plus hop bitterness. Very good. Pretty tasty.

Pours clear, amberblonde. medium sized, very stable white head. Scent is very funky, woody, smells way older than i'd expect. Taste is sharp, less funky than expected. Mildly woody, certainly acidic, but balanced. Old Oak, citrussy. the 40/60 is perhaps a touch more outspoken, intense, but less on the citrussy, fruity side. both are pretty good, this one being the (very close) second for me.

Bottle: Poured a golden color gueuze with a medium foamy head with limited retention and lacing. Aroma of tart notes with some green apple notes, oak and some barnyard notes. Taste is also a good mix of tart notes with some oak, some tart green apple notes, oak with barnyard notes and a light sour finish with hints of acidity. Body is about average with good carbonation. A really enjoyable gueuze with a good drinkability level.

Thatβs very good stuff. Funky and clean, notes of pale wood, lemon peel, straw. Moderate acidity. Decent salinity. Extremely drinkable. No off notes, really. Exceptional.

375mL bottled Feb 7, 2024, drunk Aug 28, 2025.
Clear brass with a large, very-well-retained, white head.
Musty cellar, mild cherry-apple, mild Brett. Extremely round and soft. Too gentle. Bordering saccharine and pablam-like.
Getting pretty tired of these Boon-like Tilquins. I don't drink lambic to drink shitty Boon, so hopefully Tilquin gets their act together (the fruited stuff is usually pretty good, still fairly acidic).
But this is like a bad Boon Gueuze. Soft, saccharine, heavy apple, powdered sugar. Very low acidity, no barrel. No funk.

375ml bottle at home with Mrs Scopey. It opens with a pop which kicks up the sediment. Pour is hazy depe golden with a fluffy white head. The aroma is dry oak, minerality, chalky, floral, damp hay, tangy citrus, gooseberry, lime peel, margarita, dirty funk and white grape skin. The taste is crisp, firmly dry, touch of bitterness, decent nip of acidity, white grape, gooseberry, citrus peel, salty lime, margarita, minerality, chalky, dry funk, barnyard and sherbet with a drying, chalky finish. Average body and moderate+ foamy carbonation. Really enjoyable. You definitely get a younger lambic element to this. Tasty.

0.375 l bottle from 'Beyond Beer', 2023/2024 vintage, best before February 2034. Hazy, golden orange with a medium large, slightly fluffy, quickly diminishing, white head. Slightly sweetish, sourish, rather fruity and quite funky aroma of overripe lemon, horse blanket, white pepper, oak and leather. Minimally sweet, quite sour, rather fruity and gently funky taste of overripe lemon, gooseberry, oak, leather, white pepper and some horse blanket, followed by a medium long, rather tart, quite woody-dry finish. Medium body, quite astringent and fairly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Tasty Geuze, rather fruity and refreshing.
