Cask at Dragon Inn, Birmingham. Semi-hazed light amber, modest white head. Its certainly more hoppy than your average Wetherspoon's cask but the balance seemed off to me. There was a citric tang with edge of sourness combined with a drying astringent near cardboard flavour. Maybe not the best condition oddly despite being a festival offering.

Cask @ Arnold Machin, Newcastle-under-Lyme. Darker clear golden with a head. Nice and hoppy with a good body for its strength. Not too much of its citrus found though.

Cask in the Playhouse Spoons, Colchester. Clear gold beer, good pale cream colour head. Airy palate, mildly dry, reasonable fine carbonation. Very light malts, mildly sweet, a touch of grain. The UK and US hops bring light pine and fairly bright citrus peel and a whisper of lime. Light smooth finish. Let down by the slightly grainy malts.

Cask at Baxter's Court (JDW), Hackney before going on to see the superb Skating Polly at Oslo. Golden-amber with a white head. Floral with some detergent and a bitter, earthy finish. Got more soapy and harshly bitter the more you drank. No-one at my table liked this.

Cask at The Justice Mill, Aberdeen. It pours clear golden - amber with a decent frothy white head. The aroma is quite zingy, tangy, pithy, zesty, grapefruit vibes, oily, resinous and some underlying oily sweetness. The taste is dry, rather bitter, fragrant, floral, herbal, peppery spice, earthy, very soapy, fairy liquid, pithy citrus, grapefruit rind and some rawness with a bitter, soapy finish. Average body, soft carbonation and slightly oily mouth feel. Nice elements to it, but it is quite raw and soapy tbh.

[Cask at the Back of Beyond (JDW), Reading.] A pale amber pour with a tight white head; fruity aroma; dry in the mouth with a fresh herbal bitterness and some fruity malts; then a crisp dry bitter finish. Very tasty.

Hand-pulled half-pint in the William Withering, a local Wetherspoons on 9th October 2024. Light golden body, white crown. Slight malty front giving way to a citrussy feel, very dry finish.
