Bo’Ho is our 1st ever lager. Not just any lager, it’s an Unfiltered Bohemian Lager that has been chillin in our conditioning tank for the past 4 weeks.

Like all authentic style beers we managed to source a traditional style Bohemian Lager strain to produce a beer with a decent malt back bone, fruity aroma and clean crisp finish. Traditional pilsner malt made up the majority of the malt bill whilst the bohemian Saaz hops being the flavouring hop.

Who ever said lagers couldn’t be awesome?

Light haze on this gold beer, untidy pale cream colour head. Palate is light and fairly dry, decent fine carbonation. Dry pale malts, some lager character but its a bit thin. Dry floralness. Back end has some reasonable citric hop. Light dry finish. It’s clean pils but it lacks something, quite underwhelming.

Keg @ Old Gate, Hebden Bridge. Weak pale gold in appearance with a thin head. Carbonated with an ale like tropical fruitiness, but fizzy in the palate. Bland tasting.

Keg at City Arms, Cowley Road, Oxford, Monday 15th February 2016 Pours pale gold with a white rim for a head. A touch of cereal on the nose, brisk lagery bitterness, the lagery malts add a flinty dimension to this. Quite good. A6 A4 T7 P3 Ov13 3.3

Keg at the Bootlegger, High Wycombe, 10/02/16. Clear light golden with a decent off white covering. Nose is lemon rind, straw, pale malt, bread dough. Taste comprises grain, faint orange, lemon drizzle, bread dough. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Refreshing stuff but comes over very shandy like as opposed to a pils.

330ml bottle. Minimally cloudy, yellow-ish golden colour with average, frothy, osteoporosing, minimally lacing, crystalline-white head. Grainy, husky, spicy aroma, hints of protein, a lemon dash. Taste is pale malty, minimally husky and bready, mildly grassy-spicy hoppy overtones, a touch of protein, diluted mandarine, subtle sweetness. Zwickel-resemblance, a bit light and cautious overall. Good starting point, still improvable.

Hand-pulled half-pint at the 24th Shrewsbury CAMRA beer festival on 6th Nov 2014. Poured a hazy golden colour with a wispy white covering. Citrus lead in both the nose and taste, too much grapefruit for me. Not really my thing: scored objectively.
