Amber color, steady off-white head. Tropical fruity nose, some pine needles. Light-bodied. Candy-like fruityness. Piney, good lingering bitterness in the aftertaste. Nice one.

Cask at Euston Tap. It pours deep amber with a thick pearly white head. The nose is wood, earth, herbal notes, spice, caramel and nut. The taste is bitter-sweet, earth, pine, spice, herbal, good bitterness, caramel, big praline character, resin and leather with a dry, bitter finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Interesting and well balanced. Rather nice.

Hand-pulled half-pint in ’Chequers’ Oxford on 23rd Nov 13 during a pub crawl. Slight haze to this old gold/brown beer, an off-white helmet on my Norseman, it fell off mid tasting. The nose was malty and woody with dark fruits. In the mouth it remained malt led, nutty now, more so than the wood in the aroma: dark fruits still around in the taste as in the smell. Good body depth and an interesting flavoured beer: the Norwegian Spruce tree being an ingredient I’ve not knowingly come across before.

Cask @ Falcon, Clapham Junction. Brownish gold with a big white head. Faint wood and autumn berry aroma. Dry taste without too much bitterness. Different from the norm but very pleasant. Wow,.

Cask handpull at The Old Buttermarket Canterbury. Hazy brown some white film of bubbles on the head. Not much condition. Earthy hedgerow fruity English style ipa. I ended up really liking this beer. Aroma and appearance aren’t the best but the stingy hedgerow hoppy fruity finish is excellent. Plums and greengage fruit. Ilkley are a solid brewery and this is what I would expect from there.
