DESCRIPTION

Anorak is a classic mild with a fruity twist. A huge malt bill to build out the biscuity base, along with British hops for a stone fruit bittering. The plum addition rounds the two together for a sweet and tart finish.

Cask-conditioned at the Bag O'Nails, Bristol 5/12/2017. Dark amber in colour, with a small, off-white, head. Sweet plum fruit, a hint of spice, bready malts and a gentle finish. Fine.

Cask at the Southampton Arms, London on 7th March 2017. Hazy reddish brown with yellowy white shallow foam and scant lacing. Biscuit malt and fruitiness in aroma. Tangy plum and caramel malt in-mouth, with a touch of citrus, leaving a finish of nutty malts, fruitiness and a lactic touch. Zingy mouthfeel and a fair amount of body. Rated as a novelty ale.

Cask at the 26th Egham Beer Festival. A slightly hazy amber pour with a loose white head; aroma of fresh Victoria plums; a dry, fruity plum taste with a slight fizz; and a gentle fruity finish. Very enjoyable.

Cask at Egham Beer Fest, 13/04/17. Fruit jam aroma. An opaque Amber - thought this was a mild?! Very thin white head. Plummet sweetness with some umami. Light bodied. Slick. Fizzy carbonation. Fruit in the finish. Goes down well.

Cask at The Cock. Hazy amber with barely any head. Aroma of overripe dark fruit, spices, plum, malt and caramel. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter. Light medium bodied with flat carbonation.

Cask, hand-pulled pint in the Leyton Technical on 11th March 2017. Slight haze to the reddy brown body, beige topping that faded a bit too swiftly for me. Plums and raisins in both the nose and taste, caramel sweetness in there too. Different and almost interesting. My sweet tooth quite liked it.

Cask at the Cock. It pours clear brown with a tiny white head. The aroma is rather sweet, plummy, sugared plum, date, prune, fruit syrup and brown bread. The taste is soft, sweetish, toasty grain, cereal, brown bread, sweet plum, date, fruit compote with a soft, toasty finish. Light - medium body and low carbonation. A bit flat really. Soft, sweet and fruity. OK, but would be good to have it in better condition.

Cask at the Cock Tavern - Havkney. Pours clear copper-orange with a fine, foamy crown. The nose holds toasted toffee, bready malts, might caramel, ripening berries. Light sweet flavour with more rounded bready malts, mellow toasty notes, more berry chapter, minimal bitterness. Light bodied with delicate carbonation. Good balance on the finish, some grape accents, more berries, bready malts. Quite nice overall. Could do a few pints of this.
