Hubert? I’ve heard of him. A friend of a friend knows him. Apparently he’s awesome, but we’ve never met. Well. It’s about time you did. Most you connoisseurs would just call him an IPA, but we call him an MPA. The Melvin Pale Ale. A welcomed hand shake to your taste buds. Light, crisp, fresh and a little bitty bitter. Lets just say he won’t be that jerk that leaves you at the bar at 2am. He’s low in alcohol. What a nice guy… that Hubert.

Pours gold from the can with a frothy white head. Aroma is a boquet of tropical fruit somewhat past its prime and moving on to the fermenting stage. Dank, with hints of caramel. Taste is bitter, intensely bitter, with a light warmth at the end. Feels like a beer drowned with hops, which it has been I guess. It may in the top 50 APA list, but it’s too unbalanced for my taste.

Lightly hazy golden orange with a white head. Strong citrus notes. Crispy and bitter. Mild cracker malt behind it but this is all about the hop. Finish is long and bitter. Nice.

355ml can. Pours a hazy amber-gold with a large, frothy, long lasting, white head that leaves curtains of lace. Sweet fruity aroma of grapefruit, orange, tropical fruit and pine with pale malt in the background. Sweet fruity flavour of grapefruit, orange, pineapple, papaya, mango, passionfruit, pine resin and pale malt with a crisp, hoppy, bitter grass finish. Medium body with an oily texture and soft carbonation. Very tasty, has some dankness to it.

Can share at RBBWG 2017, thanks for sharing.

At RBBWG, thanks for sharing! Thick and frothy, egg-white, stable head, lightly hazy golden robe with somewhat greenish hue. Dank aroma (’hops urine’), passion fruit juice, mango flesh, kiwi, pink grapefruit, white bread, tropical flowers. Lush tropical fruitiness in the onset, lots of green banana, starfruit and yellow kiwi, sweet and sourish, softish carbo, soapy aspect in the mouthfeel, fluffy and a bit oily, soft bready malt core, long aromatic finish with citrusy, floral and slightly piney notes, spicy bitterness but remaining gentle and juicy. Lovely.

Can. Pours slightly hazy golden, large creamy white head, dissipates slowly, nice lacing. Aroma is Citra/Simcoe, resinous, a bit dank and musty, wet leaves and a bit of green garlic. Flavor is light sweet, light plus bitter, pretty well put together. Medium body. Really solid beer.
