Bottle from Beers of Europe. Poured a hazy medium amber with a thin white head. The aroma is sweet malt, floral medicinal hop. The flavour is moderate bitter, light sweet, with a dry spicy, light citrus, hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation.

330ml bottle from Beers of Europe. Hazy orange colour with a one finger off-white head. Strong smoky aroma, meaty like beef or pork, touch of sour citrus fruit, slightly sulphuric. Taste of smoky sweet fruity malts. Very slow, soft carbonation. Smooth mouthfeel. To be honest I’m not a fan of smoked beers, this seemed good though, I suspect it would be better to drink with a meaty dinner rather than on its own.

Tap @Open Baladin, Roma. Clear amber, white froth. Meaty, smoky aroma. Flavour has light smoke, some caramel and a touch of citrus. Hoppy bitter finish. Not bad.

Bottle shared in London - many thanks to Cloin. Pours hazy orange-gold with a foamy white head. Dry smoke in the nose, a little bread, citrus, grain. Medium sweet flavor with grainy pale bread, phenols, light smoke. Light bodied with average carbonation. Dry grains on the finish, some smoke, citrus, dough, hay. So so.

The taste is rich, sweet - smokey, spicy, honey, grainy, smoked kipper, straw and toasted grass. Medium body and fine carbonation. Run of the mill smoked ale.

Bottle from Beers of Europe. Hazy copper pour with a white head. Toffee. lots of smoke, ash and apricot aroma which segues nicely into the flavour. Good take on the style.

Hazy gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is light, semi dry and has mild minerally crispness. The malts bring a light cream. The smoke is bordering on strong but it’s well integrated and it’s a kings floral smoke, the beechwood maybe. Touch if lactose in the semi dry finish. Pretty drinkable.
