AleSmith is proud to release this long-awaited and intensely aromatic Russian Imperial Stout with Vietnamese coffee. We traditionally brew Vietnamese coffee, known as cà phê sữa đá, with a phin-style filter that gently percolates water through ground coffee. The result is a chocolaty and bold tasting coffee that perfectly complements the notes of oak, vanilla, and spice in this massive rye whiskey barrel-aged stout.

At the big speedway tasting. Pours black, small dark head. Smell is big on barrel, some booze, bit oak, intense imperial stout backbone. Taste is full on, sharp, oak, whiskey, chocolate, roasty, extremely nice once again. Oh damn I love speedway

On tap at AleSmith, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out lots of whiskey, earthy notes and roasted malt. Flavour is complex as hell, with lots of rye whiskey, bourbon and caramel. Complex as hell, with lots of elegant layers. Phenomenal.

Bodney Towers bottleshare. Thanks to Manny G. Opaque dark brown beer, small tan head. Fluffy dark malts, a little dry. Rich dark chocolate. Tangy fruity whiskey. Whiskey spice on the dry finish. Nice but didn't blow me away.

Bottle split at L42, big thanks to Manny G'berg via LKS, 14/11/17. Black with a decent tan head. Nose is rich chocolate, coffee grinds, charr, spice, cinnamon, faint Bounty bar, more luxurious chocolate tones - great nose. Taste comprises rich roast, chocolate melt, mellow barrel tones, spice, cocoa powder, dried fruits, coffee beans, molasses, toffee melt, light coconut tingle. Full bodied, oily soothing feel, warming boosty close. World class impy imbiber ... drinks below the stated ABV ... could chuge!

Bottle shared in Hackney - big thanks to Manny G. Gusher! Pours black-brown with a small, creamy tan head. Great aroma, soft roast, brown bread, chocolate, some aged berries. Medium sweet flavour with smooth coffee, baking cocoa, mellow ash, chewy chocolate. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Warming finish with more smooth coffee, some toasted toffee, mild roast, some burnt honey, baking cocoa. A little hot, but also quite smooth. Excellent.

Bottle shared at Bodney heights. Big thanks to Padraig for this whale. Pours jet black with a dirty tan head. Aroma is coconut, marshmallow, cocoa and coffee. Taste is a really smooth coconut and vanilla hit with chocolate, coffee and marshmallow mellowing out to a nice sweet finish. Super drinkable. Marvellous.
